HorrorFest II - Official Rules & Prize List

Tech question... since these are now 10 minute films, you're increasing the size limit to something like 350MB...Maybe? Yes? Yes PLEASE? :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

I thought they were using Vimeo links and not hosting. But then that may have just been my imagination.
I kind of hope they stick with some kind of a download option as I like to put them on my WD Media Player and watch them on the big screen with friends & family...

Can someone tell me the general rules ,and how to send video? First time take a part in this. Thanks...

That info is in the first post of this thread....and welcome!

I'm still wondering how the entries are judged and by whom. It's not clear to me from the first post. Sorry if I'm overlooking the obvious, but it would be nice if someone in the know could please enlighten those of us new to the fests.

I'll have to leave this one up to one of the mods. I've entered these fests since 2008 and I still don't really understand how they get the final result!
Plus, this fest might be a different process all together.

In the past, the films are watched and rated by DVXUser's with 50 or more posts. It's a 'star' rating...1 to 10. Once the first voting period closes, the votes are tallied
and the top 3 to 5 films are listed (if it's a close call) and a second voting period starts, but only for those who haven't voted in the first round...when that ends, the top three (winners) are announced.

It's been quite awhile since the last fest, so don't hold me to that...but if memory serves me right, that's how it will go. Remember, the idea is to MAKE A FILM...so every entry is a winner in reality!

I am with Zaza. I would love an download option as I too like to put it on the big screen with family and friends...

I'll add a +1 to the download option. Streaming media is blocked here at work, and I'd like to watch them on my lunch break.

"But, don't you work for a company in which your job is an online digital media producer?"
"Yep."
"And they don't allow streaming media?"
"Nope."
"Doesn't that make things unnecessarily harder than it needs to be?"
"Yep."
"Ok, just making sure."

We were planning to stream via vimeo or youtube to allow for easy embedding, sharing, and a more functional streaming option. However, I also had the intention of offering a traditional download as well.

That sounds like a plan... any idea on a size limit for the download version?
