Can any one tell me where to get FCP's DVCPro HD codec?
Im trying to make my p2 log to work , the Tc's at Imagine said just to get it of disk # (5) if I remember properly.

any pointers as to where to install that and how to procceed would be appreciated.

On the Mac, the DVCProHD codec is part of QuickTime, you don't need to install FCP in order to get it.

Are you certain of that?

Because imagineproducts provides a utility to install it off the FCP install discs.

FCP 5 automatically installs it. Never heard of anyone installing it independently. If it's on your installation disks, it's on your system, period. Sounds to me like Imagine is talking some BS. I'm very suspicious.

Again, what version of FCP are you running? Very important for us to know!

I do not have FCP yet (on my new System) that is why I bought P2 LOG because I thought I could log all the footage for now and buy FCP after my trip. I wish I would have put the $200 towards FCP. But I'm stuck trying to figure this out now. After I called Imagine they said that I could get the Codec from a FCP disk I think he said Disk 5, or if I could find that somewhere. He just said that he couldn't send it to me cause of some agreements with apple.

Long story short the Imagine guy said it will work without FCP installed on my system but I need the HD codec from FCP. Evenwhen I got this file I need to know where to place it.

The codecs would go in your bootdrive/library/quicktime

I got the new Codecs and it worked... "THANKS" to that person...
I placed them in the quicktime folder like stated and worked like a charm....
Thanks again to everyone for their input and time to look and help!
