ghost huntin' tonight

Goin' through this footage now.
Man, spooky is pretty easy to do on video.
Got some exteriors with a wide open shutter that are awesome. I had a still photog piggy backin' me and we started using the flash together as I swish panned across the house.
Freakin cool lookin.
One image of a figure I knew I had... is just a black shot. I can't even color correct an image out of it. Only place this happened.
This'll be a fun edit...

Sounds like the jet black figure I mentioned earlier . Looks like it was standing right in front of the camera.

all of my insticts tell me the gowler was fussy.
Freakin creppy all chillin on some After Effects work with the headphones on in almost silence when
"roooar"

damn. wtf? (looks around to ensure coolness wasn't lost by someone watchin')

I know that feeling. Just don't let them know you're scared ;)

The worst part was being a good videographer under pressure.
Like, the group would be walking an empty hallway of the abandoned hotel and I'd hold the shot as they rounded the corner, leaving me there in the dark all alone. I can't tell ya how many times I held the shot then took off sprinting.
lol

So you probably missed the best part of the show. :D

You wold need to have a little helmet camera pointing backwards.

Imagine when you check that material and see all sorts of strange things going on behind your back, while you shooting the team in front of you.

Duuuude that whould be scaaaary :evil::evil:

You know, to be completely honest here, I have mentioned some of the stuff that we experienced in our old house. Stuff that would turn you white. I took it all in stride though, but I had to draw the line when I was doing audio recordings. It wasn't the Q&A type stuff, just set a wireless lav in the hallway where it was most active, and plugged the receiver into my PC. I knew I would be able to handle hearing just about anything that was recorded, but refused to monitor it live... because of what I might hear.

I don' tthink I took this shoot serious enough.
2am this morning found me working my way though a rough cut when I saw something I still cannot explain. I'll compair it to green slime but floating. I was in the dungeon and did not see this in real time. On tape though, 55 frames has a green ooze kind of dripping from air, floating then, almost looks like it flies into...well, me.
I'll upload a clip of this today and you guys can help me pick away at it.
It aint what ya think when ya think ghost but what I'm seeing is a live energy that I have never seen before.

alright, I am open-minded to any and all explainations here.
First run through is straight up raw footage. It's not color corrected, composited or treated in any way. Didn't even set an audio level. The second run is the same clip in slow mo, again with nothing added.

ideas? thoughts? recomendations for removing supernatural slime from a left kidney?

That is odd, and I can't say as I have ever heard of, or seen anything quite like that. It is not dripping from the ceiling, it doesn't fall in quite a straight line towards the end. Cool catch!

Yes, I'm kind of stoked now.
There were many odd things happening that night but with comedy and a touch of male ego in the air, we tended to laugh it off in real time. I'm finding in looking closely at the footage that there was quite a bit of activity goin' on.

I'd like to know more about the location, it's history, and particularly that area you were in. Something bad happened there, that much is obvious. If you look closely at the clip (And I'm sure you have, many times), it looks like blood spilling out of a wound almost.

yeah.
It's an old hotel dating back to the early 1800s. Jesse James, Al capone and others found refuge there. It flew two different flags during the civil war, depending on which troops were in town and the dungeon served as a place to defrag slaves in the underground railroad.
The owner, Bertha Giffard killed 17 people (and counting) here with victims from ages 15 months to 80 years old.
good fun.

There are a lot of stories about this bridge "Suicide Bridge" in Pasadena, CA. Funny thing is, we just filmed part of an episode of "The Mentalist" under this bridge.

Maybe I'll set up a hunt here. Anyone down?

You must be talking about this place, the Morse Mill? Sounds like you got off easy ;)

yeah, that's the place.
Makin' great headway on the show now. I'll prolly be able to post the entire episode Monday.
It's 20 minutes running time with no breaks. Would make a great half hour weekly series.
