ghost huntin' tonight

I don't think I believe that ghosts exist. Having said that, I wouldn't spend the night alone in the attic of a super creepy reputably haunted home either.

The Haunting series is a bit hard to watch,...

I hate the editing style and the way they use the same footage over and over in one show.
It´s so on my nerves I can´t hardly watch it, thou I´m extremly interested in the subject.
Sadly a lot of Discovery stuff is made that way.

I completely agree with that too. They show you all this stuff right before the commercial, to build up a cliffhanger, then show the same thing again after the commercial, and again, just for effect.

I used to be skeptical, but with an open mind. Now I am just suspicious of anything that claims to be paranormal, but no longer skeptical.

What I hate about those paranormal shows is when the "investigators" try to talk to the ghosts. It doesn't matter WHICH one...Paranormal State, Ghost Hunters, Most Haunted, Ghost Adventurers etc....whose every trying to "call out a ghost" just sounds absolutely ridiculous and so un-scientific. I wind up feeling embarrassed for them. It just underlines the point of just how UN-scientific they are being when they carry out these "investigations". It's not true science. Its a TV show. You've got all this gear, the usefulness of which is sketchy at best, nary a true Parapsychologist among them, and you clumsily yell out to a ghost to ask it to "make something happen". They just look silly and unprofessional imo.

Plus, they are all over-the-top with their theatrics. It never rings true.

Its done that way I think to remind you what happened just incase you have a short memory span or you were watching supernatural on WB :)
It would take all the suspense out of it if they reminded you with the voice over.

I watch it for two reasons the simple acting , lighting and overall tone of the show. I geuss that makes it three . It's like the VO guy is sitting next to you.
There was just one VO guy here in Suriname who could say anything and sell it. But he committed suicide a few years ago.
People here in Suriname easily believe in all things supernatural as others here easily ignore it.

I used to be skeptical, but with an open mind. Now I am just suspicious of anything that claims to be paranormal, but no longer skeptical.

I am in the skeptical with an open mind stage. I admit that I can't possibly know for sure if paranormal activity truly exists or not. But, I think its something that you have to personally experience in order to make that determination for yourself. And, even then I am wary of believing in something simply because I WANT to believe. So, I'm pretty skeptical.

A very good friend of mine shared with me a few months back that he is a medium. We have a great relationship and we laugh a lot so when he said it with a straight face, even though I knew he was being serious, I bursted out laughing because it just sounded funny. We were at the diner and he blurted it out. It was so random that it felt more like the deadpan punchline of a Catskill comedian rather than an admission.

It'd be like being a long-time friend of Mickey Rourke and during a lull in a conversation over lunch he dryly tells you "I'm gay.......can you please pass the f'in dinner rolls?" It was that unexpected. It was just so random that I laughed. And he laughed but then he told me why it took him so long to bring it up. He sensed my skepticism and he was afraid I was going to think he was nuts.

Now, I have to tell you, he is one of the absolutely most sane and accomplished people I know. A doctor of psychology, author of many books, a fantastic father and all around good person. So, when someone you are close to tells you that they are a medium, you HAVE to listen. You HAVE to give them the benefit of the doubt. So, I cannot be a 100% non-believer. I trust that he believes and in all other things I trust his judgment so why not this? But, I don't believe wholeheartedly because he does. That would be like piggy backing his faith. That, I can't do. But I will keep my mind open.

Especially since I had something happen just a couple of weeks ago that is pretty inexplicable and lends itself to the "maybe" category.

When you hit the "Definitely not right and normal" category, it really tends to make you wonder about everything else, you know? And when you have something that you know isn't a normal occurrence, you start to believe in ghosts. When something happens, and you know that it wasn't ghostlike in nature, it makes you wonder about the possibility of Demons, and it just kind of spirals out like that.

I get the adding of a monster. It's hard to sit in a dark house for 12 hours, come back with more than a week's worth of post-productin and have the pynacle of the adventure be dimming LEDs. I doubt I'll leave it that way either.
If people really wanted to watch reality, we'd just uplink security cameras.
They crave entertainment. Gotta create that sometimes. The trick, as with everything else in life, is simply to not over do it. Leave em wanting more and you'll always have a hit show.

My view on ghosts remains the same. I need no belief to know we are bundles of energy and bundles exist on frequences I'm not aware of. That said, if I were a dwelling energy between life bodies, the attic aint where I'd be hangin'.
Not only are we a bored race, man has always been much more scared of the unknown than intrigued. It's why we created religeon, heaven, hell and yes, ghosts. These things create a sense of security for the scared but topics to investigate for the intrigued. As science offers proof and religions require faith, some magic has to be believed in somewhere along the way.
It's my belief that we should all believe in some magic. There is no doubt some exists.
Love alone is a fine example.

Actually, it seems like it would be the other way around, the security of knowing there is no Heaven or Hell. While I haven't been that bad, I ain't been that good either.

I'd love to know where you've gotten with this, is there anything to see, or any pic's?
Another paranormal psyco here. :)

San Shen Tan Tien - metaphysical energy system of martial arts

San Shen Tan Tien - metaphysical energy system of martial arts

Interesting and ironic reading this right now, as it touches on something I study and teach.

============

San Shen Tan Tien (SSTT) "kung fu" is the martial aspect of this system which teaches the practitioners high-speed, multiple strikes against multiple opponents. It relies on internal energy and is therefore equally effective against either large or small adversaries. This art teaches the fighter to differentiate between "muscle strength" and "spirit strength." Those who actively integrate this discipline within them, discover a very devastating martial art.

The Five Element Classical Forms consist of five separate sets of movements, which work on incorporating each of the Five Universal Elements (Wood-Metal-Fire-Water-Earth) throughout the body. Don't let the ease of these low-impact exercises deceive you! They generate an exponential “ripple effect” of internal energy, which people can feel almost immediately. Some practitioners have stated that they generated more internal energy after only a few weeks practicing these exercises rather than after years of practice in other well- known internal arts such as Chi Gung and Tai Chi.

The Dynamic Meditation involved allows the practitioner to open and strengthen the major energy centers of their body. It also dynamically purifies and channels energy from within and without. Combining the forces of the Universe with meditation thus exponentially increases the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of energy through the internal metaphysical dimensional doors. This technological discipline strengthens the energy fields, organs, glands and immune systems of the body while relieving stress.

Another aspect of SSTT is called the "Fusion of the Five Elements", which teaches the practitioner how to use "negative" emotions such as anger, impatience and sadness by integrating and transforming the “negative” and “positive” vigor into powerful healing forces. Through the external and internal disciplines, the student begins to learn how to sense and transmit the energy of various elements throughout their body. The practitioner also begins to learn how to understand the dynamic flow of the Yin and Yang. Understanding the Yin and Yang (or Male and Female Hands) allows the practitioner to balance the Male and Female within him/herself.

In addition, our SSTT group is dedicated to educate, research and investigate ghostly (paranormal) activities in any area(s) deemed necessary and imperative. Our roots date back to 300-600 BCE and linked to the Shang Ch'ing Taoist Spirit Fighters who dedicated their lives to guarding the former vortex in China from evil entities. The San Shen Tan Tien Paranormal Exploration Group will demystify Spirits and Ghost as portrayed by "Hollywood" and "ghost trackers" who often try to promote ghost tracking as a form of goulish, frightening, gothic experiences. We conduct discreet and public investigations, assist people in need, educate the public, conduct field research and promote the learning and understanding of ghosts and other psychic phenomena. We use the latest scientific methods and tools as well as Shang Ch'ing Taoist Spirit Fighting Arts with a proven historical track record. The oral tradition was passed from teacher to student for over two millenniums. Unlike other paranormal exploration groups, we will not close off our membership to you and we will not subject you to paranormal experiences that you cannot handle.

Goin' through this footage now.
Man, spooky is pretty easy to do on video.
Got some exteriors with a wide open shutter that are awesome. I had a still photog piggy backin' me and we started using the flash together as I swish panned across the house.
Freakin cool lookin.
One image of a figure I knew I had... is just a black shot. I can't even color correct an image out of it. Only place this happened.
This'll be a fun edit...

I'm tellin ya. Nothin but black.
I could see it live, no problemo. It was one of the first shots I rewound to because I was looking forward to enhancing it. I can get but multi levels of grain. It's as if a lens cap were on while shooting. Straight up no info to pull from it.
I was listening to an analog audio recording today. I left a recorder up in the attic after our little LED fiasco. Duuuuuuuuuuuude
40 minutes into the tape, there is a very distictive growl. Like a bad warewolf sound effect.
Nothing else is on it.
