GH4 GH5 Stock Alert

In stock today and shipping at B&H and Amazon (4/3 Rumors). My little pre-ordered beasty comes today from Glazer's, Seattle, who were been early suppliers of my GH3 & 4.

This is a bit surprising. I have a feeling a lot of people canceled their preorders...but maybe Panasonic really did prepare better this time.

There was an interview (somewhere out there) with the Panasonic peeps who said that they were expecting a 50% greater interest in GH5 than in GH4 and were ready for it in terms of production.

They weren't ready for the amount of the GH4 interest back in 2014 and had to open another manufacturing line to catch up with the demand. The number given then was 5,000 units monthly.

Panasonic has a roughly 4% share of the ILC's, which is about 12,000,000 units a year. So, GH4 would have been responsible for 1/8th of Panasonic's 480,000 total units shipped. Considering that it was the top of the line DSLM and that they had GH3 still in production, along with other models, GH4 was a huge hit. I figure it brought ~ 25%-30% of all digital interchangeable lens camera profits for them.
 
I called Samy's Camera in LA and they said they received 75 GH5s and my GH5 that was pre-ordered on Jan 19 should ship today.
 
I went and picked up my GH5 from www.pictureline.com in Salt Lake City today !!!

I believe they might have more in stock that they can ship today if you give them a call.

Amazing cam so far. Loving everything about it.Two quirks so far.

- Play back and editing 4K 10bit 4.2.2. Quicktime 7.7.9, Movie Studio 13 and 14 can't see the footage. Media Player Classic plays it fine though. Not so much on the 4K 60p on my older i7-920 pc.

- Things like webbing and fine mesh moire big time in 2x crop 4K :(

No it is from shooting 4K UHD and viewing at 2.5k in MPC. Thanks for the heads up. Might not be in the original footage.

Unique Photo has the XLR adapter in stock if anyone is looking, ordered mine today. Camera will be here tomorrow from B+H wohoo
