OK, here's a mini-conspiracy thought - I wonder if those GH4 V-log cameras in the hands of the early testers are really GH5's
I would expect to see many improvements with the GH5 or GH4 Mk2. V-Log is not enough to release a new model.

Loving this v-log (though there is definitely still a bias toward the cool colours and away from the warms). Also unsure how much the improvement in grade-ability is due to the 10-bit 422 files.
BTW I got a reply on Twitter from @PanasonicUSA today after requesting info on V-Log. Their tweet: "We are working on it. Should have an update on it shortly, thanks."
That's what I am saying ... well, I think that's sort of what I am saying ... it's not the GH5 but something in between GH5 and GH4 ... maybe ... possibly ...I would expect to see many improvements with the GH5 or GH4 Mk2. V-Log is not enough to release a new model.
But, Zak, let's say they changed a few ASIC or an FPGA chips inside. How would anyone know? The same body, the same sensor. Unless you take the whole case apart, no one would spot a darn thing.they're not. i've held one in my hands. just a good old run of the mill GH4.

That's a real nice color balance! I would like to see that with just a smidgen more sharpening though.

I think you're drooling while in this dream..... :-DI have a GH4 arriving Tuesday, would be a nice surprise if it just happen to have V-LogL on it. I know, wishful thinking but imagine if there were a few hidden gems in the stacks of inventory. Like updated firmware preinstalled and timed to ship with an announcement from Panasonic. Yeah, whatever....I'll wake up shortly, just let me dream for a few more days.

Daniel,Last summer, when I first got my GH4, I dialed Cine-D down to extremely flat levels. Since then, I've let off and usually keep Cine-D at stock levels. Last night I re-graded some of the raw files shot with the extremely flat Cine-D levels, and I don't think they look bad at all. I'd really like a second opinion on these...
They were all shot with-
Contrast: -2
Sharpness: -5
NR: -5
Saturation: -5
Hue: 0
i.Dynamic: Off
i.Resolution: Standard
Master Pedestal Level: +15
Lum. Level: 0-255
No Highlight Shadow curve.

I've given up waiting. My guess is the marketing department has put a stop to V-Log getting on the GH4.
...would of had to of got...
