GH4 GH4 V-log?

This stuff is sooo flat. I love it! I'd really like to mess with a sample that was internally recorded. Oh and maybe something shot in the shadows with harsh sunlight in the surrounding area for highlight roll-off.

I personally like a rich, contrasty image myself, but contrast is really subjective. I like the grade Daniel Brown did, a lot.

This is probably as much contrast as I would ever get.
IMO, those wooden posts need to still have some brown in them, not clip to black. Same with the woman's hair. It's brown, not black.

I'm late to the party - here are the 2 clips coloured in FCPx with an Impulz LUT applied to both (Kodak Vis3 500T 5219 (C41)_VS). I use Impulz regularly as I find the GH4 image to be too 'video-like' for my liking.

I personally like a rich, contrasty image myself, but contrast is really subjective.

I prefer a "normal" contrast image with real blacks. ( not the arty washed out grey blacks )

I generally associate too much image contrast with crappy quality cameras.

Loving this v-log (though there is definitely still a bias toward the cool colours and away from the warms). Also unsure how much the improvement in grade-ability is due to the 10-bit 422 files.
BTW I got a reply on Twitter from @PanasonicUSA today after requesting info on V-Log. Their tweet: "We are working on it. Should have an update on it shortly, thanks."

OK, here's a mini-conspiracy thought - I wonder if those GH4 V-log cameras in the hands of the early testers are really GH5's. Or probably closer to GH4 1/2 (as in the "smell of fear"). The same sensor, the same body, slightly different electronics inside.

Or maybe those were GH4 MK II's, an intermediate model to tie people over before GH5 is out.

they're not. i've held one in my hands. just a good old run of the mill GH4.
