GH2 Pre-orders

Interesting, I ordered the 14-140 kit in black. I wonder if the 14-42 kit is arriving sooner? Waiting to hear back from Amazon regarding some clarification on my order, fingers crossed.
 
From Amazon: "I've contacted appropriate department and they confirmed that, as per the information from suppliers we have at this time we are expecting this camera in stock by December 15, 2010. [...] So, I can confirm that we expect to ship your order by December 15, 2010. It should be delivered to you by December 16, 2010."

This is for the 14-140 kit. At least it'll be here in time for Christmas. Holding out for an extra reason to be thankful on Thanksgiving!
 
The GH2 has disappeared from Amazon.com US? (A search on "GH2" doesn't show the cam anymore.)

This old link I'd bookmarked from 43rumors brings up a page that allows you to be notified when it becomes available:

Might just be a temporary fluke, or maybe GH2 demand has already exceeded the next 1-2 months supply?

Meanwhile, Adorama is still taking GH2 pre-orders, and B&H is still allowing people to submit a "notify when available" request.
 
According to a live chat rep, the preorders have exceeded their initial order, so they don't want to accept anymore. Not sure I believe them. A note on the website saying no more preorders until further notice would have sufficed instead of pulling the product.

what's the point of tricking or doing it on purpose? there's great demand for the GH2..

My GH2 order from Amazon still says:
Delivery Estimate: November 23, 2010

No cancellation e-mails either.

 
I will be happy to get GH2 this year. If not... next year... hopefully before the spring. Hopefully lenses I want have lower prices then...

I found their explanation a little odd. If you don't or can't take anymore orders, just say so. Or take preorders and warn of a long wait time. Pulling product off of a website in this day and age just seems strange. Unless of course it's a back end f*** up.

And you are the second person to refer to an Apple stunt. I don't know what that is. Can you explain?

Regardless, I don't think it's a stunt.

this was said in one of the posts: Perhaps they are playing Apple's game. But GH2 is no iPhone or iPad...
i guess they want to get more demand or something..

Amazon still says my black GH2 w. 14-42mm lens (pre-ordered 9/25) order status is:

"Delivery Estimate: November 30, 2010 - January 4, 2011"

Which in English means: "We have no frick'n idea!"
