GH2 Pre-orders

GH2 price in USA = GH1 price in Australia. Huh. And GH1 price in Australia is now half what I paid for mine. Double huh. The march of progress, I guess. Still, worth every cent.
 
You guys remember this? It started with one photoshop of the Panasonic website and ended up getting insane while we were bored and waiting for our GH1s. I believe I contributed the candle flash, but it was one of the first in the chain. Oh wait I did floppy disk too. LOL "Strudycam" still makes me laugh.

Today I also sent Adorama a pre-order. It'll be interesting to see which vendor "wins".

thats what I was referring to!!

I couldn't find the link--- that's my cam and 50mm FD lens-- the camera is actually one of my undeveloped throw away camera's (disposable) from my wedding reception, they were on the middle of all the guest's tables.

I can't remember who added the webpage mockup... but it started w- that cam on my back porch...and yes a flurry of photoshops followed--it was an awesome collaboration--I remember the tough part was being, able to keep up with all the new additions....

GH2 pre-ordering with Adorama became available this morning; I put an order in for a black body with 14-40mm lens.
 
I'll probably put a pre-order in for two GH2's from Adorama as well. They're a great company to order gear from, and I got my GH1 pre-order in pretty good time from them.

I've found the discount to be pretty significant. On my LX3 it was very significant and sometimes they have weird deals on there. They had a discount and some other weird rebate thing at one point that allowed me to buy the 40-200 lens for $20 directly from them.

A few minutes ago I received the following email from Amazon.com:

"We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on September 25 2010 (Order# ...):

Estimated arrival date: November 30 2010 - January 04 2011 ..."

I hope it arrives sooner rather than later!

(I also have it on pre-order from Adorama.com).
 
Does seem to imply that the silver one is in stock. I'm going to have to seriously consider purchasing this.. even if I want the black one... Very interesting.
 
I got an email from Amazon as well, giving me a date of December 15th. Wish I hadn't canceled my earlier preorder in order to switch from silver to black. I'm going to try for some other options, since I've just sold my Gh1 and am stuck without a camera if I can't get ahold of one.

Did Amzon give you a specific date ("Dec. 15"), or a date range (their email to me says "Nov. 30 2010 - January 04 2011")?
