GH2 Pre-orders

Hmmm...says 1-3 business days but also says TBD.

I think I am just gonna stick it out with my Amazon preorder and not put another one in here (ugh imagine the stress if they both shipped!) as 43rumors says European Amazon has already had it in stock and US amazon might start shipping next week.

Meh, gave in. Order placed at Panasonic Direct. Gonna hold onto that Amazon order too though...I guess on the off chance they both ship at same time I can always return one.

UGH! I am having serious issues... I tried to order my GH2 through Panasonic direct, and then I hit the back button at one point, the order confirmed shipped but with the wrong shipping information and no tax info for some reason, like those fields reset, so then I did something else and the order number page went away, then it went back to the page that said in big letter "if you refresh this page or hit back your order will be placed twice" for the SECOND TIME. So now I am afraid I've got two orders in, neither of which have the correct shipping info, and both of which are full price. I can't check on order status because I don't have the order number because for some reason I haven't received any kind of confirmation email, and I am super busy and don't have time to call in but looks like I will have to tomorrow. Totally inconvenient and pisses me off completely. Did anyone receive a confirmation number after ordering?
 
I managed to get what I believe to be the order number from my browser cache but now since I signed up for an account between when i placed the order and now, whenever I try to enter the order number it tells me to login to my account (cause of the email address) which then shows no orders. What ****ing monkeys designed this piece of **** website.
 
Ok finally got through, gonna cancel order and replace. Is everyone ordering with the schmancy $630 work around or anyone going the honest route (I did...but I am in the middle of trying to cancel this order because somehow my shipping options didn't get applied...although it also somehow dropped sales tax so maybe I will keep it)?

Ok so apparently you can't cancel the order online? Or do I still have to wait. This reminds me why I totally ignored Panny direct in the first place this time around...this is absolutely insane.

UPDATE: confirmed order, status says shipping today 12/03/10, but we'll see. Then I need to ship it from shipito.com to Canada.

Deleted the corporate discount link since it doesn't seem like an honest way to purchase. You are free to google that information but please don't post it out in the open here. Pretty certain those discounts weren't meant to be used in this fashion.
 
Just got off the phone with Panasonic CS, they said my order that I placed on December 1 was on the loading dock and ready to go out. He wasn't sure if it would ship today or not, but that I would receive a tracking # when they do ship it. My card was charged, so it looks hopeful!

Sorry about that, it was really late and I should have actually used my critical thinking skills instead of rushing to buy selfishly. I'll think twice next time before posting any link regarding a sale.
 
OK, so according to the plans one of us should be receiving our Gh2's by Saturday assuming the 3 day delivery it's accurate on the Pana site.

Poor, poor Panasonic.
 
I actually have a legitimate membership to the the Panasonic Friends & Family Program through my job. Every time I log into the site, under the GH2, it says "This item not available thru Panasonic Direct", and no discount price is listed. Has anyone else run into this? I purchased my original GH1 at a significant discount through this program.

it's called the fatwallet effect or slickdeals effect. What happens when a good deal gets posted to a deal site...Most of those cameras purchased from the slickdeal users (illegally) at $630 will be going to on ebay.
 
Woo hoo! Never thought I'd be happy to see a charge on my card for $630. Mine might be shipping soon. Too bad 100-300 mm lens is still backordered.
