GH2 official discussion thread

How long would it take to put up just one jerky progressive file? (in reality thats all that is needed)

*also, you'll need quicktime to play it, and premiere will support it (not vegas though, i think)

*and I forgot, for the file that you post, try to post the same 24p that the gh2 recorded simultaneously

i have quicktime. it cannot read it and i have prores codec installed.
i'll cut down the file at work and upload it (only 200mb for free mediafire upload)

*help please.
i edited all my captures on final cut to a native sequence of 8 seconds/ 1g file.
i just need to upload this where i can put more than 200mb (like mediafire)
don't you wanna take it to the lab? doesn't anyone have some kind of account so i could upload this?

Why not use Megaupload, Roei? That has a 1GB file limit.

Edit: Also, if you have any files larger than 1GB, you can use WinRar to make it into two .RAR files (basically a split .zip file). Then when people download them, they can merge the files together again exactly like they were before they were 'rarred'.

What are some of your thoughts on the touch screen on the gh2. likes and dislikes. And can you still access the features without touching and smudging your screen.

i can see it,
how's uploading speed? it's good?

faster than megaupload for sure :)
about 1.85 Mbs

and moranfilms- lcd is indeed smudgy as hell. yea you can enter all functions without it.

FINALLY - the file is on Eimulis ftp.
ask him for any info :)

ok- these are the captures i did last night:
they're all jerky, missing frames and fast motioned because of the 30fps.
not sure about the order but i've tried these options:
24p- camera not recording
24p- camera records
1080i - camera not recording
1080i - camera records

Beautiful. Very good sampling of framerate options too.
* I see, its one file. Was it exported as prores 422?

yup
but remember its just the framerate of the camera-
the card was able to capture ONLY 1080 60i- which led to fast speed, missed frames and capturing errors - i just disabled the card warnings and captured.
so you'll probably be a bit disappointed- i guess this test will only show some kind of resolution reference.

Its hard to tell w/ an interlaced image... the last line of chroma seems to float a line above the object...

The following article seems to suggest sub-sampling doesn't play well with interlace.
