GH2 in stock thread

I placed an order for silver 14-42mm with provantage jan 23. Called and they said estimated ship date is Feb 3rd. Really hope that is true because im headed to India on the 12th and i dont have a camera currently (both died on my last trip).

I work at B&H. We have the GH2 with the 14-42 and the 14-140 in stock. They are not on the website yet, as they came in today. You can order oneif you call/.
 
Thanks johnnyevil I've been waiting on B&H I'll be calling them in the morning I called too late sunday evening.
 
Hey all,
I ordered the 14/42 black body kit from Adorama on 01/17 . I contacted them and was told it was on backorder and the estimated time was 2 weeks. Now It seems to me like a "standard" answer but the rep told me 2 weeks. As of this morning my order is still pending. I was going to do B&H but as far as I am aware they do not take backorders. I will post updates if it ships. Im out in Phx, AZ btw...

Hey Guys,

I was at B&H 9:a this morning and bought the GH2 with 40-140 kit in black. they had two in the store and said they where for people who made the trip. Also got the 20mm pancake lens. No AC adapt or batteries avail. Charging batt now. I was suprised to see how small this camera is.

Your lucky enough to be able to walk into the store physically. When I called them they told me they had nothing. I've been conditioned to purchase things from B&H over the years because the station I direct at always orders from them. I tried to order from AbleCine but they didn't have the 14-42 and I honestly got nervous about Samy's after looking at their review on retailerratings.com. I really hope B&H becomes a real option for me this week.
 
I was on the wait list from PD too. Ordered since Jan 14, after much frustration of waiting and lack of info, I was lucky enough to find a GH2 at local San Jose store about a week ago. The guy there said all the retail stores get first shipping, Panasonic orders are very last in line. Not sure how true, but does make sense when stores are getting little shipments here and there while PD has no idea when it will be available. Not dealing with PD anymore even though the corp discount was significant...I would still be waiting! BTW didn't realize how tiny the camera is.

Are you talking about San Jose California? if so what shop was it? I've called so many places and no one seems to have one. People keep trying to sell me a G2, that's not even up for discussion.

Turns out the Samy's in stock info was bunk. Just spoke to a lady there who said it was "in stock" on their website, but that they only had 1 and 20 orders had been placed.

just San Jose called. they are out of stock. said they sold like 4 earlier today. bastards! and they were the "new" shipments of "fixed" models. At least we know they're coming.

Thankfully I made it in time and I have my 14-42 black kit now. I just barely made it. I drove from Oakland and saw a lot of highway patrol on the fwy. When I called they had both kits when I got there an hour later the 14-42 was the last one left and exactly what I wanted. I'm charging up now. Thanks again.
