I'm happy it worked out for you. They have a 2 out of 10 rating on resellerratings.com. That was a serious red flag for me. But in the end as long as you got what you wanted it's all for the best. I picked up mine in person 3 hours ago so I'm happy as well.
 
a little bit of divine justice. i waited 3-4 months for the gh1, had orders in at adorama, bh, PD, finally had to buy out of canada from a guy on this site. this time around, sold the hacked gh1 on a wednesday on ebay, and on thursday the cam was in stock at samys. the only drawback is I had to pay ins state tax since we are both in california. and i did call them after i ordered to confirm.

I ordered the 14-42mm GH2 through Samy's today (9:00AM CST). They didn't have the black (though the website had it "in stock") but I was able to call in and get a silver one...should arrive later this week.

Well I called Adorama and according to the rep they are still waiting on their shipment from Panasonic. And they have no idea when they will receive them. So much for getting it soon. I'm so frustrated!
 
AbleCine emailed me yesterday telling me the 14-42 Kit I wanted was in and I declined it because I had just purchased one else where. Seems they just got a shipment.

I sort of did and have some good contacts at B&H. I ordered them on a PO for my work a large buyer from B&H in Oct I think whenever they showed up online. I am sorry I am hogging them. lol. But I probably should have just ordered T2i's since I lost a lot of instructional time waiting for these. I honestly didn't think this was going to be such a crapshow.

Yeah the same thought on the T2i's was on mind plus canon glass options are great. But I realized even though I'm about to rip my hair(whats left of it) out in frustration. The features and specs on the gh2 make the video features of the 7d or T2i (which video wise are the same in my opinion)seem like add-ons to photo cameras .The GH2 is more of a 50/50 split I feel and being relatively broke all the time while still having super high standards, it's the camera that will make me happiest in the end. I also hope to use it for longer durations than 14 minutes like says weddings etc...just to fix the I'm always broke problem.
 
I ordered mine on the 17th that cant be right.....Why did they ship yours first and tell me today that still haven't got them from Panasonic? Not that I don't believe you but now I'm kind of agitated.

Was it the black or the grey?
 
placed an oder on the 18th then got confirmation and backorder information on the 20th. My order was for a black gh2 but to be honest either or would be fine with me. Just tired of waiting.
