GH2 hdmi to PC

I just bought the hdmi cable to plug my GH2 to my PC, but I can't monitor anything.
I thought I could use ONLOCATION CS5, but it only seems to work with firewire (from what I read.
Am I missing something ?(probably!!!).
Cause I can monitor the image from my HDTV, but not from my PC.
Any software necessary?
Will I need a specified monitor instead? (i was planning to buy one eventually, but wanted to use my laptop until then)
Lots of questions, sorry....

Thanks for the help.....

That thread, from my understanding of it, is more about "capturing" or "recording" the footage. Perhaps I was not clear, but all I want to do is "monitor" my GH2 with my laptop.
I can't go 2 meters away from my HDTV and I don't see the use of it on the field. But, to be able to get an idea of the image straight to my laptop could be useful (perhaps not, I don't know yet).
As you can probably tell, I am a novice in the department..............basically, all want to know is : "Is there a way I can see what the GH2 is seeing on my laptop, live?"

Thanks........(I will keep reading the thread you mentionned, and i'm sorry if the answer is hidden somewhere........it's a long thread ;) )

what HDMI input device do you have in your PC?

Short answer is no as it does not have a streaming protocal like firewire but you may be able to do it if you get a capture card. You may be able to use the Composite out of the GH2 if your laptop has an input. Some high end ones do. You could also get a USB video input card.

Or you could go the HDMI capture card route which adds another level of complexity and minimum requirements but is doable and you will have to deal with all the issues mentioned in the above thread.

It also sounds like you are confusing the HDMI output of your laptop for an input but that's unclear. Give us more details and we can see if we can help.

Well that makes that HDMI cable pretty useless to me then.....thank for the info buddy.
Is there a way to use my current laptop (who obviously has none of the features mentionned above) and add an external video card of some sort?
Or am I stuck getting a new laptop? (which I can't afford since I just burned 1000 big ones on my GH2)

Learning everyday I guess..........got to love this place, even if it makes me feel like an idiot ;)
