Upload info for July 11th

anybody got any ideas how to get these two files WITHOUT using compressor? I'm one of those lucky people who get the "cannot submit to background process" messages. I have a wealth of encoding programs, none of them are able to give me 2 files, everything i have is muxed.
 
generally, you want to aim for a 5.5 to 6.5 average bitrate with a peak bitrate between 7 and 8. some players can't sustain bitrates over 7 for long periods of time and result in skipping frames. with something feature-length, you'll quickly find you are sacrificing quality (lower bitrate) to fit it on a single layer DVD-R.

For the feature I'm working on now (1hr 45min TRT) I am using a 4mbs Variable bit rate which goes from 3.0mbs to 5mbs with an average of 4mbs and it looks really good.
 
Any chance of a hard deadline?
I've uploaded video and audio. Just wondering if I'll still have time to swap out the audio once Herman finishes with it.

Alright, I give up, taking my film into work to use their copy of compressor. Will be uploading by tonight.
 
The hard deadline is supposed to be today. But my thought is that we'll be fussing with these things for at least a day so it doesn't hurt to upload when you can and if we can pop it in, we will :)

It would help for everyone who can, to put the fest banner in the sig. We're really trying to maximize everyone's exposure in a very limited amount of time.

Did that the other day. I really appreciate all that you guys are doing for us. It can't be said enough! :beer:

PS- Herman has just told me that he will be getting the new audio portion to me right away so I should have it uploaded by tomorrow for sure. :thumbup:
