No offence to Vitilay but he doesn't 'seem' to be joking in his posts. I have not often grasped him as having an overt sense of humour - just my online internet perception. I hope I am right and that we can get 4:4:4 out of the HDMI port. That would be just ridiculous..........

oh c'mon face the truth. Vitaliy responded to this thread 2 times and didn't say anything about it NOT being an april fool's joke. So guess what it is...

Oh, please Vitaly... Say it isn't an April Fool's joke! I'd be happy with only a slightly higher bitrate. Even only 35Mbps would rock in AVCHD!

HAHA, He had me going as well, until I read 4:4:4 hdmi, then the red flags went up. I don't even think it's possible with the gh2. the other options, well, maybe. This has to be a joke. If not, and it's possible, I will be snding in a donation. Regardless, Vitaley is an amzing guy. SMART is an understatement.

While I hesitate to say whether or not this *might* be a joke since VK does seem to have a good sense of humor but can also be very to-the-point, why wouldn't 4:4:4 be doable?
Why wouldn't the GH2 share some of the future ability of the AF100?
It'd be silly for them not to share the work that has been done with similar designs with the same parts. I'd fully expect the GH2 to be capable of everything the AF100 is and even what they intend for the future. Putting huge amounts of money into a single model design is wasteful.
