Hey guys do you know how much the GH1 actually weighs on a scale in LBS?

Body?
Body + battery?
Body + battery + 14-140mm?
Body + battery + 20mm?

I would weigh it if I had a good acurate scale, but I don't and figured asking you guys here would be my best option.

GH2

Body = 404g
Body + Battery = 454g
Body + Battery + 20mm = 562g
Body + Battery +14-140mm = 926g

All lens had caps on

The GH1 is around 10g lighter

Thanks for that, but still looking for acurate LBS of the GH1 setup... don't really want to estimate.

body w/ battery 15 oz
body w/battery/14-140 2lbs
body/battery/20 1 lb 4 oz.

OK..... now answer the question that screams to be answered, how come you need this trivia ???? :-)

did you just convert using dazza's measurements or did you weigh your setup? I'm using this to build a rig setup for a car, it needs to be as close as possible so That some parts of the rig operate properly.

The weight of the GH1 seems to vary depending on where you read it from, even Panasonic's own site it says approximate

The fact that you plan to use it with different lens would mean it would have to be able to be adjusted for variance anyway wouldn't it? And then you have the focal length that you are setting the 14-140mm at, which will throw out the balance

Yeah that is why I was asking people on here if they really weighed it. I'm looking @ 14mm and 20mm focal lengths only. and the weight of the total unit. I can adjust the balance later, but I need to know what materials and platform I'll be using to make the rig first.

I'm looking to create some sort of gyroscoping in car rig that will stay level as the car is driven hard. so I can get some cool looking shots but steady at the same time.

I threw my GH1 on a cheapy food scale and it was right around 15 oz. I also have an old Lens that I bought, and it weighs 15 oz. If the GH1 and 14-140 lens weighs 2 lbs, does that mean I can put my heavy lens without worrying about the weight straining the camera? Or does the 14-140 also need some support?

No the 14-140mm doesn't need any support. So I wouldn't think your old lens would either.

In my experience with other cameras the 14-140mm isn't really all that heavy
