GH1 replacement parts

Sorry if the question is dumb, I lost the cable that connects the ac adapter to the GH1 and can't find it on Panny's site to order - they only have the ac adapter itself, but I need the cable that hooks up to the camera - I CAN"T INSTALL THE FIRMWARE HACK!!!

Anyone know where I can find just this part? Can't find just that listed anywhere. Hope I don't have to buy a 2nd GH1 - though I would like to have one esp. given the price drop

The FW hack installs from the SD card in the camera SD slot, no need for cables or connection to AC. Actually the recommended procedure to install the hack is to use a Full battery only, no AC. There have been reports of a few issues when flashing FW from USB.

I believe the battery adapter is only useful to provide battery free power for playback from camera to TV.

No, see, you CANNOT install a firmware update without the camera plugged into the AC - it won't recognize there's a file on the card otherwise.

Yes you can flash without AC. Have done that myself many times. The only thing is that the battery must be fully charged, otherwise it won't start the upgrade procedure.

nope- not a problem at all- actually- topic has been covered quite a bit to update firmware via sd card w/ FULLY CHARGED BATTERY, as to not disrupt the update in case of a power failure in your neighborhood, house, office, etc.
Or some nimrod walking along and not noticing the ac plugged into your gh1(3) and ooops tripped over that wire.............."HEY WHO LEFT THIS PLUGGED IN HERE?!?!!"

Ah sorry just tried it and it works. I saw the manual says AC connected only

Manual?? Come on Psynema! the only manual you should be readin' is here in the stickies!!:beer::thumbsup::thumbup::beer:

NOW GET TO SHOOTIN!!! And report back with sick clips---no testing, pans, charts and all that- we've seen plenty!! It's about time you joined the forces!!

actually updating from AC is more dangerous as there is more chance of power failure and accidentally kicking cords rendering your gh1 brickie. best practice use fully charged battery =)

ah...yeah just echoing what he said...lol

i dont think i've ever used my cam w/ac come to think of it. you can HAVE my cable, Psynema! haha j/k,,,you never know.

yeah...the "burn-in"....that was a good one. who comes up with this stuff?? (sarcasm not directed at you btw)....seriously though....

Hi people,

I'm looking for this cable too. I have the original, but I want to build a GH1 to 12V direct cable without sacrifice original cable. I'm sorry but Zacuto cables are very very expensive to its function, so with a 7809 regulator you can do the same with a bit of electronic skills and about $5.

So, do you know where to buy this cable (original or not)?? I'm in Spain, so I prefer eBay (and it's best for many us, I think).
