GH1, GH2 EVF Eyecup

I'm down for one too! Been looking for one myself, almost went to start making one too. Can't see why no-one has made one that simply pushes over ther rubberised eye piece however. If it is tight enough it'll stay no problem and wouldn't use a hot shoe or any other method of fixing.
But this looks better than nothing

Any news, how is the manufacturing going, been quiet recently. Any latest pictures? We are all waiting with baited breath here.

rigs, can you please share the design here? e.g. dimension graph in jpeg. I'm just gonna ask my friend to make one for me. Thanks.

I'm currently on a 2 month production that wraps in early July and will get back into this in August after a short breather.
Thanks
Rigs

well, we can certainly have some sympathy for Red considering they´re working on a complete camera , and not just a piece of rubber and a aluminum bracket !

Thanks for the Slam!
I am not a manufacturer. I am a Producer/Director who has made up and uses these on a daily basis and thought I might have the time to offer them for others. I originally planned to have these made up at the beginning of the year but one of my suppliers messed up the order and sent me some crappy rubber eye cups. That took a month to solve and cost me some large bucks. I have since found some that would be up to par and I have the brackets ready to be made up. I just don’t have the time right now to see it through.

Well that´s obvious , no ? He overextended himself with promises on a project that , if one actually wanted to commercialize , would, on a scale of 1 to 10 , would be about point 2, and the thread , which has now run 18 pages , imho , is a lesson in credibility. It should be a lesson to him as well as to all the people who wanted someone else to resolve a simple problem rather than themselves personally going the extra few inches. As for the analogy to Red, that seems obvious as well. The forums are filled with people disappointed by Red´s inability to complete and release a product of high complexity , when they should have sympathy and know exactly how complex something like a Scarlet really is.....compared to something like a bracket holding an eyepiece. Well, sorry for the bluntness of my opinions, and the analogy should have been more than obvious, but they come from 18 years as a research design engineer and knowing exactly what´s required to get something out the door. The first lesson in being an engineer is never make promises you can´t keep . That said , one day, I hope these 30 or 40 people who are waiting for him to complete his promise are , in the end result, satisfied . One day.

If you want an eyecup like this, then why don´t you get on ebay and buy an eyecup for 9.99 and go to homedepot and buy a piece of extruded aluminum for 5 bucks and in about 1 1/2 hours , with a drill, hacksaw, and a round file, make one ? sorry....I just don´t get it - this ain´t vitaly reverse engineering the firmware !

all you've said might be true to a certain degree,
but you seem to forget:
Mr rigs really tried his best providing help in producing a budget eye cap.
he obviously had some problems manufacturing large quantities.
maybe he lacked experience, but at least he tried.
and yes, people waited and got very disappointed.
no reason to take it out on him by any case.
also,
i myself am afraid to make my own tweaked eye cap.
if i had precise instructions and where to get those exact materials (not easy in Israel),
i might try to do it.

so until someone with a good heart (maybe you ? ;) ) provides detailed instructions and exact materials to order from Ebay or wherever,
i am stuck. but it has nothing to do with Mr rigs.
