GH1 availability around the world thread

Panasonic Australia still has it available from June...

Who would be stupid enough to buy it at Panasonic Aus prices anyway...
You could fly to Singapore or HongKong, have a holiday and buy it there, all for the same as you would pay in Australia.
And be home before Pana Aus release it! :)
 
I placed my order from Panasonic Direct on June 8th. I called them today and the order is scheduled to ship out on June 28th. I was hoping to get it before I go on vacation the 26th. Doh!
Oh well. I'll have something to look forward to when I return!

Likewise Ted's Cameras - at full list price, though. Ouch. I just need to think how to explain it to my wife, then I'll order.
 
well i talked to a rep today about my May 28th order and last week they said it was shipping on June 16 and now they are saying the camera is not out yet and the first shipment is not until the 26th...
 
amazon says they're shipping it in 1-2 months...

if that turns out to be the case, i'll just get the 5D.

a little communication on panasonics part would be nice.
 
Adorama sent me an email today apologizing and giving a little swipe at Panny:

"We are writing regarding the order you placed with Adorama.
Order# xxxx.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer let us down, and now we let you down.
We apologize for being off our estimate."
 
I just received an email from Vistek Canada... I pre-ordered may 14th... the order as been ship today... I'm in shock... :)

what was your order date Nighthawk? I ordered on May 27th, was told yesterday mine will ship out on the 22nd (panasonic direct)

Yo, paul. If I recall I ordered the day before Rolly on May 13. All pre-order from Vistek in Canada. This is a large shock as I was given no advance warning and thought it wouldn't be due until the end of June. I know this has been hard on a lot of us to plan shoots etc. but i do wish things work out for all of you in a timely manner. Not in my hands yet but I'll keep those interested up to date.
 
For anyone who has an order it at Amazon (like me), I read over in the dpreview forums that a couple people who ordered the first week in May have received shipping notifications from them. Nobody claims to have received one yet however.

My order still says June 15- June 30 as the delivery date range.
