GH1 availability around the world thread

I spoke to a woman from research dept. today as well. and she gave me similar info as Orchid. she said that NO cameras would be shipping out any more this month and the earliest I would see my camera is July. I would honestly feel comfortable if I just had an exact date that wasn't contradicted by every other post on here. :/
 
I pre-orderd mine through PanasonicDirect on 6/2. After speaking with a rep today I was told my order is shipping out 6/28 with an estimated delivery date of 7/2.
 
Yeah I'm seriously at a point where I don't even want to waste any more time trying to figure out the status of my order. I've contact Panny so many times and I get discrepancies from call to call.

Not one has been able to give me a date on when to expect it. The most I've gotten so far is that it'll be another two weeks. Speaking of which, the same girl I spoke to earlier called and left another message on my cell stating that it's been delayed to July. I guess she didn't realize I was the same person she spoke to earlier since I left a voicemail.

I don't understand how some of you are getting dates on this thing. :huh: I guess two weeks would be about the 26th. I'm at a point where I'm considering just snatching a japanese model. Getting that desperate.

Other than the language settings, anything else differ from the us version?
 
the guy i just spoke to on the phone at Panny Direct told me they have no more information than we do when checking the order status on the website. they just punch our order number into the website and thats all they look at...... yup.
 
Pana rep just called me to report the same info that I learned earlier (my post above).
I asked her how some people got theirs earlier and she said that sometimes other vendors will fill an order from Panasonic Direct if Panny are out of stock.
 
HOW can other vendors have it if Panasonic themselves dont?? i'm so confused. haha. panasonic DOES make this camera RIGHT? Panasonic SENDS it to vendors to send to us? wha??
 
Yeah Paul it doesn't make sense I know...This is the worst experience I've ever had with dealing with a preorder. Calling customer service and getting different responses, and then being told that my order was delayed due to different shipping to billing address, even though I confirmed that it was correct? Such a bummer cus I really thought it'd be here by now...
 
Maybe us shopatron'd are indeed the lucky few now. Another person said their June 4th (same as mine) shopatron'd order was going out on the 26th...I am going to not call and just pretend that means mine is as well. :)

Luckily I don't need this camera for anything soon...I'm just bored as **** without it.
 
I think for the most part the Shopatron folks are lucky -- considering I placed my Amazon order in mid may, and others placed panny direct orders in june and already have their GH-1!

It is a bit wacky though...

??? Did somebody whose order went through shopatron get a camera?
 
A batch (2 or so) of early june folks from shopatron have been told June 25th...I am afraid to call lest my hopes be dashed.
 
Arg. Frikin dangit. I wanted to shoot my short before my summer school starts. This puts me behind schedule to say the least. Oh frikin well. We'll just have to wait.
