GF1 testing and footage goes HERE

adammada, what i did was make 1440x1080 in 3.36 which gives a HDCAM square pixel style image. Then i convert this to nonsquare, just by importing into a nle like fcp, and it is converted, instantly, without the need for rendering.

hope this helps, ask me if you need more info on this

3.36 - never:(, sorry!!! you can not 1440x1080 with the "GF1" and the 3.36, give a distorted image:Drogar-Mark-01(DBG)

When you see it in vlc or something it will look stretch up, change the video proportions to 16:9 and it will be ok.
In NLE just say it is 1440x1080 on a preset and it will know it is a anamorphic pixel.
A lot of cameras record en 1440 1080. I don't think that it will make a difference the extra resolution. The quality will be more (bit rate wise) mare bitrate for fewer pixels.

thanks all - i think i use 720p 422 with PappasArt-Settings (384, 330, 300, 276; 24, 24, 24, 24) or 1920x1080p 420 with my Settings (220, 200, 180, 160; 133, 146, 150, 155).

1440x1080p "does for me no sense".

The 720p 422 and the 1920x1080 works very good:love4:
:dankk2:tester13:beer:

(GF1 AVCHD: my new Setting for stable and High-MBit AVCHD (3.37d) is: 50, 60, 60, 70, 78)

adammada, have you tried Paul Shields 720p settings with 5,5,5,5 table which can play back in camera, wonder how they compare to PappaArt settings.

Does the 720 settings, 30fps, 25fps, interfere with the width=1920 and height=1080 settings ?

Do I need to set the 720 parameter?

For some unknown reason, I have been unable to obtain 1920x1080, using 3.37d version.

settings

settings

the GF1 is MJpeg 30fps!!! US-Model or Europa-Model
MJPeg you can with the Hack
720p 30fps Color 422 (~77MBit with the PappasArts Setting)
or
1080p 30fps Color 420 (set the MJpeg 1280m width and hight 1920 and 1080)
for ~ 40 MBit with my Settings (Class 10!!! by trouble set Q: 180, 160, 140, 120, for ~32 MBit)

AVCHD you can
720p 30fps (US) for ~32MBit
or
720p 25fps (Europa) for ~32MBit
with my setting 50, 60, 60, 70, 78

You dont need to Set - you can use your own

Thanks so much for your work guys! Keep it up! I may be joining you all very soon. I just bought a GF1 yesterday (for the lens...to use with my GH1 that will be here on June 22). I was up til 3:00am shooting with the GF1....it was alot more fun than I expected. I may be keeping it and joining the GF1 party! ...the point is. Thank you. From the outside some people may think, "....GF1...meh..." I'm so glad you guys are "chipping away" at this. I think many people will love this hack for the GF1. Thanks again! (end worship session)

wow, did you grade that with magic bullet, or straight is it out of camera? it looks incredible!
looks like you are using a great lens too

with the ptool 3.36 and 3.37d I see a bug in "S" mode with MANUAL lenses where I can dial the aperture down (slower) but then I can not raise it. Can anyone else confirm this.
For me is not a big deal, I don't believe in this S + AE lock = semi manual mode.

That doesn't make any sense. With a manual lens the aperture is always controlled on the lens and not the camera. I guess some 4/3s lenses might be manual focus and still allow aperture control from the camera. However, I am not aware of any of those lenses that operate that way.
