FS100 Reflection

I lined my adapter with black muslin - it prevents a lot of that green reflection.
I really have to shoot straight into a light, to get this effect now.

So it´s not the perfect remedy, but way better than nothing.

Frank, are you saying you have "muslin", like the fabric muslin? With all the threads and fibers and stuff? If so, YOU are a brave man. Matte black paint maybe, but muslin? Also, that won't do anything for the green reflections we were seeing in the previous example.

Let me take my comment back a few notches...I actually used the Fader ND on my kit lens all day and didn't see a reflection...I think it's the Rokinon 35mm 1.4 lens. Maybe the faster the lens, the more chance for a reflection. I had it wide open.

Or maybe cheap adapter without baffles plus cheap fader with no anti reflective coating plus cheap lens also without anti reflective coating equals reflection. Maybe thats just one reason why canon 35mm costs $1200 and heliopan nd costs $400 and rayqual and mtf adapters that have baffles cost $300.

Yap, muslin like in the fabric muslin. No problems with fibers and all, expected to see more of those.
It helps to some degree with green ghosts, but not if you shoot straight into the a light.

Just pay more and you are fine? I´m afraid it´s not that easy (would be nice though).

I had that green ghosts coming up in some situations, even with Heliopan on expensive Leica glass and baffle adapters.
I think it´s the nature of the FS100, that you can fight to some degree, but have to work around otherwise.

By the way, 250 extra bucks to add a black washer? My first car was 250 bucks.

... just saying.

Frank you're sticking fabric in your adapter. Fabric deteriorates. You really want that near your sensor. That alone tells you that somethings missing from cheaper adapters. Cheap ubiquitous adapters did not get something right and fail in a certain area.Thats maybe why Sony showed the camera with a MTF adapter. If my only options are only two adapter companies that knew that shielding the sensor from extraneous light would be a benefit and they priced it high I either buy it or i don't because I can't do anything about the price but I think people should know that it exists. I'm just offering a possible alternative that might make their shooting life easier not trying to make people waste their money.

And someone gave me a car for free once. Is that how I determine value for any future purchases now?

Well, it works for me without any issues, but to each his own.
If you really think it would be that easy - just spending more $$$ would solve that problem, I´m the last one, who gonna talk you out of it.

For the record: The sensor is not exposed to the elements, there is an combined IR/Anti-Aliasing filter in front of it.

I agree. Those accessories are overpriced. It's just the nature of the camera and shooting straight into light.
