GH4 First look at 24p anamorphic & V-Log on GH4

It's funny how they've withheld v-log from being released at NAB. Like someone said maybe it has been axed from V2.2 at the last minute. I'm questioning why all the testers are posting videos containing anamorphic and v-log demonstrations and talking about it like its a reality but then Panasonic announce only the anamorphic additions to the next firmware.

(I'm writing all of this purely out of frustration and my longing to get my hands on v-log!!) :/

I'm disappointed there was no mention of some much needed framing guides in the new update. How hard can it be to add a 2.39:1 guide to the LCD and EVF? I've never been a fan of the anamorphic look, so I feel the guides would have been the far more usable update, especially when shooting in C4K.

The two shots that prove V-Log L is so awesome (from the official Panasonic video shot by Eduardo Angel) are the nighttime traffic shot with the taxi cabs and the nighttime interior tilt shot. I know the tricks I've had to play with graduated ND filters and the like to control highlight clipping and lower scene dynamic range. This update is worth its weight in gold! Please drop this update soon, I'm starting pre-production in a month!

For crying out loud, just come out and say V-Log L will be coming in firmware update. What's all this "yes we have it, but we are not sure if we'll give it to you" business?
