I have great news. Canon has absolutely slashed the price of the C300. Now you can get the DAF autofocus version for $6999. I have brand new C300 camera bodies IN-STOCK today for $6999. I also have the kit with the 24-70 f/2.8 lens for $8299 and the Zacuto Recoil Bundle for $7999.

The leasing options are fantastic. You can use 24 month $0 down 0% leasing on a camera body for a rate of about $292 a month. OR use the 36 month 1.9% option for a monthly rate of about $201 a month.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all. Thank you very much

Huge drop! Getting prepared for C300mk2!
Still..... C300 (mk1) at same cost of an FS7? Kind of a no-brainer in my opinion.

Edit -> Unless thats some strange April Fools thing...

I really wanted to buy a c100 MII, but this almost makes that seem silly.
I just bought the C100ii with the Ninja Star. I'm scratching my head a bit right now.

my biggest hangup with the 300 was no slo-mo. Considering you can now achieve that in the timeline with interpolation and optical flow I'm a bit dumbfounded.

If Canon releases a "C200" (100 with 4k internal and ^ bit rates) there will hell to pay!

Honestly...you didn't see this coming? NAB around the corner? This is an obvious step. Why buy anything after Jan 1st if you don't absolutely have too.

I had too. I bounced out of my FS 700 while it still had some value. Too many projects in the pipeline to rent.
The c100ii will eventually become my B cam in the fall. All good just a little salty at the moment.

C100 MK II is still a great camera. I would take it with a Ninja Star over a C300 any day.

(Unless I was doing broadcast and live shooting and needed genlock, timecode sync, and internal broadcast codec)

Not gonna happen. I'd say there's more chance of a $500 4K upgrade for the C100 Mark II than there is a "C200" at this point... and I'd rate the likelihood of the 4K upgrade as "not likely".

This means used C300s will be worth even less after NAB. The market will be flooded with them and the price will go down, down, down.

I wonder if Canon would or could do what Sony did with the F5... pay a fee to upgrade... not sure if its possible.. just wondering is all...

Yeah can't wait to see the specs on the C300II. If anything, the price will probably come down even more on the C300 in the used market.

dont think so, one of the biggest steps was the improvement of the processor. C100 II has the new processor.
That still leaves us with the question whether C100 MK II can be upgraded to 4K.

Canon did it with the Dual Pixel AF, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities. They could indeed be waiting for the C300 MK II to sell in numbers before offering something in the $8,000 range.
