E-series P2 card

Yes. I have one of the first generation of the HVX, and I use a 64GB E-series card. No problem. You may need to install firmware updates on your camera, though.

Thanks I will try that... I have one more question , Can I use the Firewire to transfer p2 footage to my computer? , when I plug in the Firewire it reads it , but it doesn't import the footage

mac or pc? You need to set the camera to usb or fire wire HOST. Then when in vtr mode hold down the button untill it becomes a big usb/firewire drive. Pc doesn't work well with fire wire so use usb

I have a pc, I was using the firewire with regular DV footage and it worked just fine. When I plug in the Usb my pc doesn't even recongize it. Im going to switch to Usb host on the camera and see if that changes... thank you for all your help... very frustrating.

Make sure you are updated to Premiere CS 3.1

"USB Host" is for offloading from the camera directly to an external drive - not what you want here.
"USB Device" is used to turn the camera into a basically a "USB P2 Card Reader". I don't recall if you need a driver for the HVX200 or not.

Thanks mikko, should I just go straight into the external hard drive, would that be easier? .

i just received my e -series 32gb card. i took it out the package and fired it up. no problems on my older hvx200.

I just purchased a 64GB E Series card for use with my HVX200, but when I popped it in to record a live music show at 720P, it only recorded for 70+ minutes, not the 160 minutes as stated on the Panasonic website? Is this a firmware issue that can be corrected with some kind of update? Anyone have any recommendations or advice on how to fix this problem? Thanks.
