I second the screen protector. Defintely get it. The monitor is so sturdy you can just toss it in the neoprene sleeve and not worry about it if you have the screen protector on. You won't notice it at all indoors. Outside is another story, it is more reflective but you wouldn't be able to see the monitor either way in the sun without a hood. Dirt can get under it though, and I found taking it off to clean it to be a pain.
 
Ok, I'll mark the screen protector as MANDATORY on the shopping list, it is only 19 bucks. Thanks so much guys for the heads up! Probably will get the arm and hood too now. Jeez, w/ bracket and neoprene sleeve too, it's adding up and I'm only getting the hdmi one...

It can add up, but you will be glad you got the arm, sleeve, and protector. Why spend $900 on just the monitor if you won't have the things you need to use it easily?
 
Awesome. I'll get everything then. The protector/panasonic power pack/dp6 hdmi/sunshade/arm/neoprene slipcover/and last but not least, the 1.5 ft. hdmi since the few I have may be a wee bit too long. You guys are great. Can't wait. Been eyeing this monitor for the longest time.
 
I don't think so since supposedly the AF100 works w/ only HMC style batteries as opposed to the CGA-D54 ones. But, looking at the prices of third party chargers and CGA-D54 batteries on ebay/amazon, the prices seem dirt cheap for 5600-6000 mAh power for each battery as opposed to the 1900mAh on the canon/third party ones...
 
So this is still valid? Nice. Im thinking of DP6-SLR or DP6-SDI. Is HD-sdi better than hdmi or is it just a better connection with the BNC? or why should I choose DP6-sdi over the DP6-SLR? My usal go to shop wanted 2349dollars for the DP6-sdi. I think I ordered it hear instead! Thanks Heero!

I confirmed with SmallHD that if they do end up offering scopes on it, they will have to flash it at the factory and that will only work with the HDSDI version. So if you can, get the HDSDI version!
 
Dp6 sdi now ordered! Thanks. It was a tuff beat between the small hd vs Tv logic. Small hd won me by giving me more confident that they are good with there customers with there 30days to evaluate. Maby Tv logic have the same, but there webbsite was not to good with info. Also I have seen them posting in forums which
I also finds good. Gives me RED vibes! A big plus for the dp6 showing the RED menus aswell. Anyway I think I would be happy with any of the two. How is the battery life of the small hd batteries? I orderd 2.
 
I get 3 to 4 hours out of a battery I believe. More if I am good about turning it off when not in use. On a 15 hour day last week I used 3 of them and ran out at hour 14.
 
Just wanted to post back and say I received my dp6 and accessories today. Sunshade will be coming later since it is on backorder. I love it btw. Build is beautiful, the arm is sturdy as hell, everything is top notch. I also went ahead and installed 1.3 firmware and am equally impressed by the accurate image displayed. I couldn't be more happy. Such a great product.

I just got mine last week. I think i'm on v1.3? I'll have to check tomorrow. Yours didn't ship with the latest firmware?

No, it had v.1.2 installed. You can check by (I don't have the dp6 next to me at the moment since I'm at work and recalling by memory) going to the miscellaneous tab in the menu clicking the scroller and the third option down is os version/let's you see what firmware is already on the unit.
 
Got mine dp6 today, will interesting to try it out tomorrow. The sunhood was not in the delivery but I hope its ships soon.
 
Anyone know if the promotion works for just accessories? I already own a DP6, and would like to pick up some accessories on the side. Thanks!
 
Last night they released another firmware update - 1.3.1 - just a minor fix to the update of two weeks ago:

"Two enhancements have been made to the V1.3 firmware release:
1) Once this update is installed you will no longer have to worry about losing power during a firmware update
2) We corrected the names of the PIP positions.

This release stands alone and can be loaded on top of any previous release. If the update "hangs" in the verify step, it is OK to cycle the power and reboot the DP6.
