Re: DVX200a!!!

Rich you officially suck :P

btw, I went to your site and almost p'ed my pants watching that "R&D" clip, that was insanely funny ;D

Re: DVX200a!!!

Damn it Rich, I was almost about to start considering how much I could sell my 100a for to get the 200a. :P

EDIT: GOD DAMN IT RICH!!!! I went to the "View sample pictures" link and watched it. I just got through explaining how much I hate that freaking thing and then BAM! It hits me again! I can't ever look at this freakin board when I'm alone in the dark.

Bastard. :P

Re: DVX200a!!!

HOLY S**T that's funny, I missed the sample images before. LMFAO  ;D

EDIT: Damn it I'm still laughing ;D ;D ;D

Re: DVX200a!!!

This is neither constructive or fair. Talk about unneeded stress over a "joke". Perhaps I'm feeling a bit sensitive since I just firmed up our decision to work with an XL-2.

Bleah.

Re: DVX200a!!!

..thats hillarious !! ;)

hey meesto,

dont worry. soon enough there will be cine style 24p HD type cameras in our price range. CANON already openly announced that the XL2 would be their last SD camera. the whole market is going to change. thats why for many of us, the XL2 wasnt worth buying at this point.. sure there will always be better cams out there, but with the move from SD to HD res your talking about a new ERA in the potential quality of imagery available for low budget independent filmmaking.. not just a couple new features over what we already have. so dont worry about having buyers remorse.. the DVX and XL2 and ALL other SD prosumer type cams will be old hat soon, and hopefully you can make some good stuff with the XL2 before the time you decide you need to upgrade comes. even when HD cams are the norm, not everyone will have an HD set, so the cams will be usefull still for alot of things for a long time, just not AS usefull as the new ones.

Re: DVX200a!!!

I'm a little late to this thread, I was taking my "I don't read other people's posts" medication.

So when does the DVX200 come out? And Does anyone know if the Cavision mattebox will still fit it?

There's no indication that there IS a DVX200 to come out. That being the case, there's no way to know if the Cavision mattebox would fit it.
What is 60P by the way?
60 progressive frames per second. It's part of the HDV standard (1280x720x60) and the current JVC HD1 shoots 60p at standard-def resolution (720x480x60p). The VariCam shoots 60p as well, and Panasonic has produced other 480/60P cameras in the past.

Excellent page, Rich!
