ERICA: Oh, Eric, the tests are back...
ERIC: And?
ERICA: You're not that father of little Erik.
ERIC: What the ****? If I'm not the father, who the hell is?
ERICA: Erick...
Im in on this one, my crew and I along with the director are starting collaberating tomorrow, that way we have a good long time to put something really great togethor. Cant wait!
Sure, Erik/Erika is fine, but I'm drawing the line there--no Aeriks, Air Hicks, or Hare-Icks.
I think most of you are clear on what drama is, but for instance, I consider Three Kings to be a dramatic film, but it includes elements of humor and action. This is definitely not Melodrama-Fest.
Could then 'Erik The Viking' (a film from distant 1989) qualify for this fest???
Seriously now, apart from calling the main hero Eric, Erica, Arik, Erkle or even Erikkos (As it is the Greek name for Eric), the idea for this Drama Fest is very exciting since it gives us the opportunity to present really good stories...
Good luck to everyone, may the best one wins.... I am sure we will all enjoy it though!
There is one issue surrounding the common name (this is one of the techniques used in the timed festivals like the "48 Hour" to confirm that the film was made during the alloted period) that isn't clear to me.
I understand the necessity of including Eric or Erica as one of the main characters, but does this have to be a first name? Could it be a surname, like "Mr. Eric" or "Ralph P. Eric"? I am assuming that the purpose of this requirement is confirmation of being started after the fest was announced and not any fetish associated with these names?
If someone, perhaps Barry_S could clarify this for me I would be very appreciative.
Please no more PM's about the names, guys. Eric/Erik/Erica/Erika--those are your choices, period. One more name PM or post and I'll scrap the Erics and make it Baal.
