FEATURE: "DOWN AND DANGEROUS" - new update, one year later.

Nick, you're awesome. And thank you, that was very generous.

I've been on here for 5 years and you've always been making quality stuff. Your videos, your trailers, your websites have always been pro. Even the Kickstarter video is great. The prep work, working with talented actors. It's harder to do it that way and it takes more time, but it's the right way to do things. So the money is going to something worthwhile.

Plus I'm helping out a fellow AF100 owner!

Can't wait to read the script too!

On the subject of Kickstarter goals and "gaming the system" I think there's an important ethical question here with your contributors if we're talking about gaming it more than a very little. If your goal is $10K and you top out at $7K but 'juice it' yourself to bring it to 10, effectively you've just cheated your generous friends and backers who've signed on to help you make what they were led to believe would be a $10K film (or not make it at all)...to make *a $7K film*. That's not a very nice thing to do to your generous friends and backers...

'Gaming' the last few percent out of $10K, maybe...I mean hey...nobody's perfect. But much more than that and you'll be taking some very kind people's money fraudulently.

What goes around comes around...

Spot on.

:) Just so there is no question, I won't be putting any of my own money in to bail out the campaign, nor do I have any beneficiaries lined up to bail us out. Doing so would undermine my belief in having the community validate the project. We are $135 from being 90% funded & $3,000 from our goal. These last few days will be hard fought, but I am optimistic we will get there by riding this incredible wave of enthusiasm and excitement we've built, without resorting to any funny business.

Right on.

And that's not even counting the monetary value of Kholi's donation! Dude, with his organ on your side, how can you lose?

Yep, pretty much the exact same feeling sentiments here too!

I loved Narc when i first saw it, but this guy really became an inspiration when I saw him at work on Smokin' Aces, so the continued enthusiasm and encouragement has been a very good feeling.

Nice! Saw the update! With 6 days to spare...now you gotta get busy getting this thing done!

Congratulations!

yeah, looks like we're making a movie!!!!!!!!!!! Some guy from Texas that I don't know (at all) just kicked in $5,000. And existing backers have been upping their pledges in the hundreds of dollars too. It's been a crazy hour. :)

Congratulations Zac! I'm in! Looking forward to some kind of production blog. Best of luck to you and good film making!

Robert thank you for backing us. We're so thrilled to know we have the means to make this movie. And we're genuinely grateful to have your support. Thank you.

The pressure just went up, I demand my digital download of the movie! And it better be good :D

PS.: Congrats Zak, you totally deserve it!

So I learned a little more about our mysterious $5,000 backer. He was a screenwriting student of another backer we had who apparently has taken to Kickstarter with great vigor. Ours is not the only campaign he gave generously to.

Currently at 301 backers, $34,501 raised, 5 days to go.

Oh .. hey .. what ?
You hit your target? I pledged awhile ago and and haven't been following. I thought kickstarter would have sent me an email or something
telling me to pay up. Congrats Zak !!

Thanks J Davis, I think you'll be notified when the campaign ends, ends. We still have 5 days and are focusing on raising additional funds that would go toward an expanded schedule so we have more time to craft a better motion picture, specialized crew members for stunts or special effects, better locations, and maybe even the means to attract a recognizable star in a cameo role.

Just had a gentleman from Germany kick in $1,000. No idea who he is. Found his profile on Facebook but so far he hasn't approved my friend request. I thanked him profusely via a private message on Kickstarter and asked how he learned about the campaign. No word back yet, but I'll be interested to know what it was about the campaign that he responded to.
