Demo Reel need constructive critiques.

there's lots of powerful scenes. lighting, camera movement and actors all looked really good. dramatic moods were effective. i liked that you gave many of the scenes enough time to settle in for the viewer. my personal criticism is that it got a bit too *heavy* by the halfway point because of the heavy *drama* tone. i feel some change ups with more upbeat nature could help to relieve the heaviness and to be able to apprciate the dramatic scenes more. it made me feel that you could be too mono-dynamic because of the lack of varied type of shots. im not saying you are but rather thats what this reel makes me think.

otherwise...very solid work.

Fantastic stuff! I really like the rain scene and the long shot at :39, the composition is spectacular. The reel is good, very dramatic, although too long for my tastes. I do think the length works well with the footage and music though, and like David_p said it helps the viewer settle into the shots.

I also agree some music changeup would help to make sure the viewer (or potential client) doesn't think you *only* do drama. Maybe add a second reel that is 45 seconds and more upbeat.




Overall, awesome shots though! How many projects does the reel consist of?
 
Thanks guys. My goal for this narrative reel is trying to show prospective client that I can bring "mood" into the story. I am working on doing another commercial reel that is more upbeat and different :) I think the reel consists of 3 feature films and 2 shorts.
 
Very good work. Solid all round. Its long though. 2mins would be enough for me. other wise ur pretty golden.
