hey,

if you're in stockholm april 23 you got the chance to see the first screening of the trailer for my feature "fuerteventura", on 35mm no less, and listen to me and the rest of the crew talk about it. drömfabriken (the dream factory) is a film and media event meant to bring young and experienced filmmakers together, and it's usually fun. you should come even if you couldn't care less about my feature. ;-)

I haven't been to Stockholm since I was 12, and alas I wont be again for a long while yet.

A nice sci-fi drama... cool, and nice epic mountain image! Where can we see trailers and screen grabs for the rest of the world?

thank you everone who came. hope you enjoyed the clips and the discussion. here's the trailer as promised. i'm not entirely pleased with vimeo's encoding but content is king i guess.

the password is luifer. please don't share it or i will remove the trailer. send people here if they're interested.

Looks great--very filmic. Excellent exposures in both very bright and dark scenes.

How did you have the shot from the car without any jello--I find that the moving car shaking creates terrible jello. Was that post processing or some sort of gyro ant-shake mount--or just a really well built Volvo?!

Absolutely looks as good as Super-16mm. Gives me continued hope for the d90 while we await the next gen dSLR's in a year or so (and makes me wonder what people see in the GH-1).

Really amazing Matt!

I'm sorry I couldn't be there and meet you in person. Did you use Deshaker solely for removing jello in any parts of the trailer?

Matt, that stuff looks great.

Are you doing your workflow on PC? If so could you please share with us your steps?

Besides the footage looking awesome, that was a great cut of a trailer. It got my attention, and now I have to see the entire feature. Amazing cut, great cinematography, and the acting looks really strong too. Can't wait to see the entire film. To bad I'm not in Sweden. :) Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. We used a hague mini for car interiors and walking around. Deshaker was used on the 3rd shot which is handheld 85mm, our standard lens for wide shots. Keep asking.

Thanks for making it available. Really intrigued. The beach near the beginning looks like it's from another era, plump ladies in swim hats and muddy sand (or is that pumice?). Finger counting bit has a 'machinist' feel to it. Really drawn in, looking forward to watching this.
