"Hollywood Camera Work" VS. "The Ultimate Filmmaking Kit" DVD sets

I am curious to know what you guys think of the 2. Hollywood Camera Work
http://www.hollywoodcamerawork.us/

and The Ultimate Filmmaking Kit
http://www.directamovie.com/

I can`t seem to find much about the latter, i`ve read the DVX review of HCW already, but am looking for comparisons with price for what you get, and what each is good for.

dont know anything about the second one. If you were considering it, I'd get Rush's dvd set instead. If nothing else, for a little more you get more than twice the content.

edit: *three times the content

I own a few of theses type of courses and I have to say Rush's DCT www.digitalcinemacourse.com is the most bang for your buck! Plus it is much more realistic in how your first movies will be shot. Small crew and the right equipment. Rush gives you a great hands on learning experiance. From writing to setting the lights. This set rocks!

The only thing I want to know is what if any are the differences between my original set and the new set.
Thanks,
Scott
P.S. I do not own "The Ultimate fimaking kit"

ALthough I haven't seen Rush's DVD set first hand, my impression is that it is more technicaly oriented, whereas HCW is geared more toward directing (blocking, composition, deep staging, etc.)

I own HCW, and it is absolutely outstanding.

HCW is so full of amazing stuff that I can't even absorb it all. I watch it over and over again, and see something new all the time. That's no slam on any of the other sets, HCW is the only one I've seen

'sup Jerry?

I own HCW also It rocks as far as learning camera movement, composition etc... But it does not compare to the reality of movie making which Rush's course does. I own both and would not give up either one of had to. By the way Dov Simmons still rocks in my book!

Hey Buijon, it's funny that I saw this, the Digital filmmakers kit was made by Jason Tomaric, a friend of my wife and I. I've been on his set here in Cleveland and have had the pleasure to see him in action, his vast knowledge landed him a teaching job for numerous years at New York Film Academy and he has also made a movie for Steven Spielbierg's low budget company or was given a budget by them ( I can never remember wich). Currently he is directing a movie that in my opinion will most likely end up in Sundance (my wife's in it so it better:laugh: ), but I will say this with all the respect I have for him, fair is fair, and all he does in those videos is run you through his experiences in 1 or 2 films he directed ("time and again" I think is one of them, which wasn't very good) along with the crew's takes on things.
Jason is a great guy and very nice, but Rush's video would be my choice if your looking for some real training in any kind of film making, not just low budget.

thanks so much for your extremem honesty, i know its not easy when someone is youur friend. I`m still looking into both, i`ll be getting SOMETHING soon
