Convergent Design Ships Odyssey7, New Firmware for Odyssey7 & Odyssey7Q on Monday

Well that would be quite something if over the course of a weekend, the firmware slipped a few hours - mind you, that's probably the right amount from previous releases ;)
 
Seriously guys, the playback controls are practically worth the update itself. Way to go, Convergent. Great execution and easy to use/control.

Previous/next button for clips, scrubbing by moving your finger in the playback area, play/pause PLUS a toggle to use all the monitoring functions while playing back. Great stuff!

4K Compressed will be great when it arrives, but I'm a happy camper today.
 
yes I agree - as I posted in the thread in the FS700 forum.

Playback is really hugely improved :)

Would be nice to have iphone like scroll of clips in the playlist + thumbnails would make it amazing.

Scrubbing is good though :)

You can send a message from the website. Mine was responded to. (However, I'm sure they are deluged).

You don't need the activation code to install the new update. I just did it.

With Odyssey7 now shipping and Record Option rentals now available, the new website did in fact need to come online at the same time.

This is not a new website address as much as it is a co-website address. www.convergent-design.com works as well. We created this sister-portal for a few reasons, including as a dev. site, as a way to secure the domain name and as a way to provide back door access should there be issues with the DNS switchover (which there were). You can use either website address.
 
If any of you are having issues with either the firmware or use of the website, please feel free to reach out to Convergent Design either via our website or by calling directly. There is staff there waiting to assist, which is why we waited until today.

I'm at 30,000 ft. so can't be of a lot of help.

Glad to hear people are liking the playback functionality. We knew it needed amajor revamp. Thumbnails were considered but they would likely add six months of programming time so we had to choose our battles. Perhaps in the future.
 
The release notes are on the website but some of the other documentation like Quick Start Guides and manuals will be made available shortly.
