Dear Friends,
We are getting questions if we will support Apple ProRes Raw. And we are getting requests to support it.
We are researching this possibility. Please understand that decisions like this are not taken lightly.

Additional information:
We understand that Apple FCPX does not support CinemaDNG well, but Resolve and other Non-Linear Editors do.
Thus, one solution that we have recommended to some FCPX users is to use Resolve to convert the footage.
But, of course, not everyone has Resolve, or knows how to use it.
We also understand that it is different when working with one file per frame of video, like CinemaDNG and DPX. Some NLE's makes this really easy, but it requires just a little bit of extra knowledge, so it is intimidating at first. But FCPX makes it hard, which Apple ProRes Raw may resolve.
Also note, that for many cameras, with our Raw Bundle, we support all or most every resolution and frame rate in either Raw or Apple ProRes. Thus for cameras like the Sony FS700, FS7, FS7 and FS7 Mark II, you have the option of recording 4K up to 60 fps, in either Raw or Apple ProRes in HQ, 422, LT or Proxy. The same applies for recording in 2K up to 240 fps from these cameras.
Of course, certain cameras have different levels of support.
We have not been on the forums much, but it is since we have been very busy.
We still answer support calls, as always.

Thanks for the update Dan. Yes the main benefit of a ProRes Raw option is reduced file sizes. 4K DCI CDNG uncompressed comes in at about 1.2TB per hour in terms of storage. This can scare clients away as it can add up to considerable expense to accommodate storage, especially when multiple backups are required.

For many Raw cameras, but not all, we do have the option of recording in Apple Prores 422 in HQ, 422, LT and Proxy, thus you or the client can select on for their image quality / file size needs.

I hope you're well.
I just wanted to put in another vote for the option of ProRes RAW on the Odyssey 7Q+. This would make the option of shooting raw a viable one, as the storage requirements of CDNG are not feasable for real productions.
It would also exend the life of the 7Q+ and surely maintain sales of the device.

I will most definitely get an Atomos and sell my Odyssey if there is no Prores raw recording made available. I love the Odyssey though so it would be ideal to stick with it!

ProRes RAW would be great for my FS700. Definitely on-board with that.
But as I'm using it less and less, I still love the O7Q as a monitor for other cameras, specially with the option to record the feed from the camera. Currently these recordings are only used as dailies, often recording a LUT colored camera feed.
However, if the O7Q could either adhere to the file names sent over by the metadata, or allow you to set the file naming structure according to the camera, this would allow the O7Q files to be use as proxies as well. This would be huge! Specially for cameras that don't currently record proxies in camera.
If the O7Q could be used to record proxies, then I could keep using the O7Q long after I stop using it as a primary recorder.

Although, with the advent of ProRes RAW, the major advantage of the 7Q over the Shogun - 60p raw recording - is lost. So with the raw license etc, from a cost perspective it will be hard for them to compete...
If they released a small 5" (or even a no monitor recorder) recorder with SDI and ProRes RAW, they could capture a good chunk of the small (FS5, FS700, EVA1 etc) camera business...

Another +1 on Prores Raw. This would really extend the lifespan of the Odyssey7Q for current owners and I'm sure attract new customers. I'm currently shooting with a 6 year old FS700 and Odyssey7Q and still get questions aboutwhat I'm shooting with. Prores raw would give this setup anew lease of life....

Can I ask why using FS700 less and less? I think look is still current if FS7 and F5 are too.
You use it as 2nd camera for your F65 or extra?
What do you think of FS700 rolling shutter, dynamic range and high light roll off?
