closeup

Hi,

sorry if this question seems a bit dumb but....I've had my A1 for a month or so.
I'd like to be able to shoot real close up(ants, bees, insects, etc...) footage.
What would I need? closeup lens? wide angle lens?

Thanks!!

right now without spending a grip of cash, you can use your cameras lens but your camera will have to be a few feet back.

the other option would be use a 35mm adapter with a macro lens.

I have actually tried to do it with the camera as it is now but it just doesn't work so I suppose that I need the adaptor but it doesn't come cheap.....

You need an adapter. I beleive any of the Letus, Brevis, M2's would work. I think you need ANOTHER adapter after that? Not to sure, but you def. can't jsut srew on a macro lens

As Tim said, you can use a macro/diopter screw in that will allow you to get the camera closer to your subject. They are available in various strengths (+1,+2,+3) and can be stacked for greater magnification at a given distance (with some loss of quality). With the A1 lens, a +3 72mm screw in would get you some pretty interesting "macro" shots.
Remember that the greater the magnification at the long end of the lens, the more stable your tripod setup has to be.
Hope this helps.
