So what will happen when someone puts the URSA Mini's sensor in the JVC's body?
Is that when the singularity's supposed to be?

Right now, I think the main thing that will discourage people from using that JVC camera in cinema when compared with cinema cameras in the same price range like the 4K Ursa Mini is the codec options that it has.
To the price of the camera you must add: battery plate, batteries, charger, viewfinder, shoulder kit, mattebox, ND filters and expensive memory cards.
So all I MUST add personally is the CFAST cards.
You have already what you need but you have bought it so you should add the value of the staff. In any case, my post was referred to people that has not and must buy all the stuff, of course.
No, simply I've put the URSA mini in the same conditions you are when you buy a LS300. I've made only a mistake, perhaps: the shoulder kit, but it includes the handle, so no sure if I have to include it or not. This simply to demonstrate that they are not in the same price range: they are different productsYou're still assuming that EVERYONE who wants to use an Ursa Mini has to purchase all of the things you listed.
a lot of people who will be using Ursa Minis won't be using them shoulder mounted
| URSA Mini: | 5 |
| V-mount plate: | 0.5 |
| V-mount battery: | 1.5 - 2 |
| Lens: | 0.5 - 1 |
| Total: | 7.5 - 8.5 lb. |
I'm on the fence about this. How comfortable will it be, since it's twice the weight of other unshouldered cameras?
On the shoulder it would be fine. I was replying to mention of people not getting the viewfinder and not shoulder mount kit, but instead going around with it like a typical camcorder:
Well, like I said, it's twice the weight of most cameras used off the shoulder. Is it doable in short bursts? Absolutely! Is it something you can do all day like you would running around with a DVX100? That's what I'm on the fence about, before I spend the $3,000 or so.
Excellent point! I can cancel my gym membership and use the savings toward this camera.![]()
