Cinemek G35 is back???

ok, but where did you find them in the first place?

Found them on the Cinemek site... after a little snooping around.

i guess tibby meant that the website removed the sample clips. i saw them too before. this new splash page doesnt carry them anymore.

They weren't clips. Just some snapshots of (what looked to me like) a new version of the G35.

Anybody grab them? I should have done it myself. It slipped my mind (stupid, I know).

I'm afraid this is simply a case of a web designer with too much time on his hand...as much as it displeases me to accept it.

if it was a web designer, then we'd at least have pages of more pictures to look at. The lack of photos or ANY information at all, even pricing -- and that's very frustrating after seeing the same damn thing for a year-- adds to the perception of vaporware. If it's real, by the time it makes it to maret, it will be largely ignored becasue nobody knows what the hell it IS.

One thing is for sure, the day it comes out (IF it EVER comes out) it'll have one hell of a time trying to compete with the present competition...while the G35 stood still for 2 or 3 years other adapters kept evolving and getting better and better. I mean today you can buy an M2 for a little bit more than 500$...the G35 plus mount was around 1200$ (shipping NOT included)...the Letus Extreme is 1200$ and you don't have to worry about static grain or flipping the image.

Hey Macgregor,

The 35mm tests of Similo look fantastic - any word on the final film? Also on the original did you use a brevis or the G35 ?

Thanks

Richard
[still amazed by the quality of the original Similo !!!]

Besides I think Mac only got to try the older letus versions...which I personally didn't like that much. The new versions are a totally different beast. I haven't tried the LEX yet, but from what I've seen it does a great job. As for the M2 I haven't had the chance to test it properly but I've seen some excellent stuff on the their website. I had the chance to work with the brevis for a long time and I really like it, but I decided to give the letus another chance...besides you can have the economy for like 900$ and have the same quality as the LEX...I don't think there's any other adapter on that price range that offers this kind of quality with AND flips the image. Anyway, I have yet to try it. One thing is for sure...I'm sick and tired of filming upside down or having to take a monitor plus a portable battery the size of a brick to shoot on more remote places. Flipping is the future!

Sgpro is the best solution for me at the moment.
For anyone asking me if the brevis or the letus are good adapters, well, if you can´t see the difference in the 1st place, don´t bother asking. ;D
They all will be good for you then.

Wow. That is some statement.
Wayne, you should put this quote on your website. Praise from Zeus!

I know what you're sayin' about the Brevis, for sure. I can sure-as-heck see a difference and I wouldn't consider Brevis and LetusEx similar. SGpro and LetusEX, yeah. You also worked with the LetusExtreme, right? Barry G's model?

What were your reservations about the LetusEx on that shoot?

Letus extreme is very sharp. The bokeh is not what i would be looking for a 35mm film DOF.

Although BRIEF (lol) it's good to know exactly what you (MacGregor) didn't find nice about the LetusEX. Wanted to ask! But, didn't end up getting around to it.

Thanks for sharin'.

Mr. Macregor, we're planning on making you a convert in the film accurate bokeh department very, very soon :-) The interchangable CINEFUSE imaging element R&D program has been quite active over our history, providing an incredibly sharp imaging solution in one platform for everything from the little HV20 to the big boys. Our CF2/Le and particularly CF3/Le interchangeable imaging elements already provide shallow DOF rivalling/exceeding any adapter out there, and yet the program has been mysteriously quiet of late ....

Hmmmm... Dennis, my guess would be you guys are working hard to put together a fantastic surprise gift package for me!

YAAAAAYYYyyyy I can't wait!
