Cinemek G35 is back???

Being an early reservation holder years ago, I got an email stating they want a deposit and it will be ready in 6-8 weeks. I don't know much at all about the current adapter and they want a deposit? While it used to be a very nice adapter, they're going to have to give me some more info before I put money into it. Light loss? Is it rod mountable? The weight? etc.

Wow, are you serious? This is really something. After so much time rooting for them and bombarding Jonathan with constant e-mails I thought this day would never come.

But I'm also with Luis. After so much anticipation I thought they would be announcing it with an explosive marketing event.

Anyway, I really hope they're back for good this time.

Does the e-mail include more information? Like what was changed from the original adapter, light loss, etc? Does the price still the same?

*An Introduction.*

You are receiving this because you are one of the first in line to
pre-order the Cinemek G35. We are pleased to say that the design phase
is complete and we will be rolling out units the first of the year. It
has been a long road getting to this point but we are very pleased with
the results and cannot wait to share them with you.

*A brief update with where we are.*

Our initial commitment is to our very loyal pre-order base, so one of
the first assembled units could be for you. We thank you for your
continued support and patience while we developed and refined our
product, as offering a quality device is of the utmost importance to us.
At the time of placing a deposit we will be able to offer an estimated
delivery date, expected to be between 6 to 8 weeks.

*What's next?*

It has been over a year and a half of waiting for you. We know a lot can
change in that time. Most of you have been patiently waiting
occasionally checking in with us in regards to the ship date of the G35.
We understand others may have moved on. The main purpose of the letter
is to fill you in on our timelines and inform you of a pending deposit
to secure your unit. Now that we have secured a commitment from our
suppliers we can give general shipping dates. We will require a $350
deposit (greater if more camera mounts are required) from you to secure
your serial number by January 18, 2007. If you are no longer interested
please let us know so we can remove you from our list.

I dig how it covers up most of the focus. I wish manufacturers rigged up a movable cover that allowed you to adjust the focus and zoom, then cover them up.

No flip is of a concern.

Hmm, where the heck is my email. I was pretty high up on the reserve list!

I could not resist. They're back! Cinemek is back, babe!! :D

Back in the days it was 1000$ plus the mount, but I don't recall any of the available mounts being 300$. I think they were more like 100$/150$...I might be wrong though.

I wonder.. will Cinemek include termos case, therefore wax GG won't melt at hot sommer day..

macgregor et al,

Based on your recent comments regarding the SGPro vs. Letus, what is your take on the new G35?

Does the G35 produce an upside down image? If so, does the right side up of the LE and less light loss outweigh the streamlined non moving G35?

Cinemek says there is a light loss of 1.4 stop. Is this a huge difference, in practical use, from the half stop that the Letus Extreme?

Thanks,

Herb
