Are they actually coming out with a new adapter that's static? and that works with HD cameras? Anyone else heard anything about this? I wonder how much it will cost...

Interesting. I've signed up to be emailed updates, but I won't hold my breath til something concrete comes along.

This thing has been "coming soon" for a loooooong time. Thanks for the heads up, azboy.

Hi all:

I was a beta tester for the original G35, this is definitely a new picture of their adapter on the HVX and the adapter looks quite different than what I used for the beta testing.

Will be interesting to see what the guys have up their sleeve but it's been years since I tested the original G35 and the market has changed quite a bit. I am very happy with the Letus Extreme but a static design, if it worked better, would be appealing.

... a static, right-side-up design is the last "holy grail" of adapters. Like Dan, I'm thrilled with my Letus Extreme, but a grainless static system would be even better...

Oh, how long have I waited for this :D
I'm dying to see some footage. It's a very bold move to come up with a static adapter on this day and age when there are so many good moving adapters out there. Having this in mind I wonder if the prices will remain the same.
A nice bonus would be if they now accepted pl lenses.

That was a long, long time ago, back when the Redrock M2 was a $45 build-it-yourself guide, etc. Nowadays it seems like everybody's charging $1200.

:2vrolijk_08:Wasn´t it also originally supposed to be around 500$?

I was a member of the cinemek forum almost from the start and I don't remember it ever been 500$ (I wish!). By then it was 1000$ plus your mount of choice (around 150$). Right now with so many different good moving adapter options I don't know if the price will remain the same or not.

Maybe my memory fails me here, but there was talk of a 500$ adapter (without mount...) and I´m pretty sure it was Jonathans`G35...
But, yes, that was long ago...

If it covers up the focus, that would be a step in the right direction. None of the low cost adapters do this. Worrying about bumping the camera focus, even in the slightest is very annoying.
