Launch film made for Hollywood's freshest film & digital post company: Cinelicious.

We made this to go along with their new site and location on Melrose ave just down the street from Paramount. I chose 2.6:1 aspect to better integrate with their new website (www.cinelicious.tv)

Shot in a weekend on a 5dm2, with a 2 man crew (Paul Korver and I)

Colored by Steve Rodriguez (Little Ms.Sunshine)
Dp/directing & cutting: Hunter H. Richards.
Produced by Flaretastic & cinelicious
Music Track: Daedelus "fair weather friends"

Hope you enjoy it, it was a ton of fun to make!

Awesome as always Hunter! Hey how did you pull focus on all the crane and dolly shots? Did you do anything in particular to treat/avoid aliasing? It doesn't look like there is that much where normally there should be heaps. Looks rad, gets me psyched on a feature I am looking to shoot on the 5d in a couple of months, the only ***** is it will be real raw ie the operators pulling their own focus which at 200mm at 2.8 might be a little tricky!

Cheers

Thanks, When I used a wide lens, I tried to close the lens down as much as possible so I wouldn't have to move the focus, most of the moves are just within the depth of field for that distance. There's alaising if you see it in HD, but not too much.

funny how the promotional video is made with the 5D for a FILM company which is a digital camera lol

It is kinda funny, but they dont care- the 5d was the only camera that could do what we wanted for this shoot and perfect for the web. BTW- they do tons of digital post too.

Thanks guys, they have such a great vibe that it makes shooting easy.

Paul K. (the guy who started cinelicious) is actually a filmmaker turned post genius, he started an a-list wedding film company called 50 foot films about a decade ago and has shot the weddings of Bobby Flay, Christina Aguilera, Jeff Gordon... needless to say the guy is really fun to shoot with and its great to know of a post company with raw filmmaking roots. Highly reccomended isnt saying enough.

I love these kind of films....trailers give licence to create lots of different shot techniques nto one video.

Really nice job Hunter and also because you knew this would be set to music you didn't have to bother with sound? and this sells the 5d as a camera particularly suited to films of this kind.

How long did you take to complete post on it? Was the total budget over 10K?

Thanks

Took me about a week to cut, Steve conformed and colored in about 10 minutes- lol. I dont want to get into specifics on pricing in public but it wasnt cheap.
