Can you say pro sports photographer?
Doesn't the 1D MKIV actually have less pixels than the 7D? It would make sense to use existing tech. It would also explain the better lowlight performance (larger chip, larger photosites....).
It still is. I bought one for myself as a sweet 16 birthday present and it's been nothing but good to me. And with the school's 70-200 f/2.8L I can turn out amazing shots.Thank god somebody realizes this camera wasn't made for video use
I shot college ball with the Canon 1D Mk II. That camera was fantastic. The MkIV will certainly rock the house...for photography
One more thing about the 1D series cams: they have much improved weather sealing compared to the 5d or other lesser Canon cams. Some of the L series glass has improved weather sealing also, so combined, this might be an important feature for some folks.

The widest lens available for this is the same as the widest lens available for FF cameras. Unlike APS-C, there are no lenses designed for APS-H, AFAIK.What's the widest lens available for this camera, and what equivalent F.O.V will it have compared to FF?
I still don't understand this complaint, unless you're strictly doing ENG or run and gun. If you want great audio on a serious production, the best way to go has always been double system. Even the RED One has been said to have sub-par in-camera audio. And if you want usable in-camera audio from a DSLR (that isn't a Nikon), just get the Beachtek DXA-5D, and it'll be good enough. The whole DSLR thing is appealing to me, but you have to give up all the rest of the stuff that you need to make a whole production the largest being audio. So while you get this nice little camera package that produces great images, adding good audio to it complicates your life a whole bunch.

Why does a camera have to be an all-in-one package?
