C500: Canon C700x: New information. Explosive specs.

How often does #3 happen?

I figure the retailers get to see the "almost ready" products while the testers get to try out early prototypes too.
In the last 15 years, I've seen 3 items that never came out (too long to explain which ones)....and there is one we saw in January that may be #4 (we'll see at NAB).......

My favorite product that never was to be was something Panasonic called the VariCam II. This WAY predated the two VariCam models that came out last year. As Jim can likely attest, the VariCam II was the oddest design ever cooked up by a major manufacturer. It was HUGE, and shaped like a giant letter Q that sat on the operator's shoulder like a pregnant albatross. And this was a 2/3" sensor camera.

There have been quite a number of others over the years, including some that went public. Anyone remember the Thompson Infinity? That actually could have been an interesting camera.

Well, rejoice, folks. It's officially out.

(and, yes, HDMI 2.0 out to ProRes 444)

Yeah, looks good. 120fps in 1080 but only 30 fps in 4K. Canon Log2 and 15 stops of dynamic range.
A new form of high bitrate H.264 (XG-AVC) for internal recording and RAW output (including simultaneous recording
to both internal as well as external). Enhanced Dual Pixel autofocus. Now we get to wait on what the price will be......
