was thinking to just attach to my tripod plate and leave it on there.

Yes it does look like really good kit. Shame it's just so expensive although I realise why.
How close can you mount the shoulder pad too the baseplate? Is it possible to have it all the way in?
LOVE the solid camera setup...but yeah, price out a full setup and it costs almost as much as the 7Q!
I can justify spending $3-4K+ on a tripod, because I will use it for the next 10, 15, 20 years. It's not going to change. I won't be shooting on a FS700 for more than another 4-5 yrs. So dropping $2k+ for a monitor mount that is specific to a camera model just seems like a poor investment.
In the end, we're talking about a monitor mount. You can do the same job with a $75 nova arm or hot shoe ball head. Is it as robust, secure and convenient? Hell no, but it does work.
Solid Camera's system is a Porsche. I can live with a Chevy. Need vs want I suppose.
you can mount it either to the provided rail bracket, and have it adjustable, or you can mount just the pad directly onto the rig which allows the pad to get 1-2 cm closer.
Sorry i totally missed this post! I recently purchased a vmount battery plate, which makes this rig almost perfect on the shoulder. The one thing i'm currently missing is some nice wooden handgrips, which are in the worksU think u can upload a picture when it is as close as possible?
I think I'm going to invest in this rig but I wanna be sure I can balance as much weight as possible
on the shoulder and not the arms.

I can just recommend it, it still works great, no issues so far.Hey Stefan,
Any updates on this rig? How is it holding up? I was about to purchase the Movcam, but my partner sent me to this post. How's the quality?
