Camtree FS700 Rig/Cage - the indian knockoff of the Movcam Rig

Thanks for sharing. Would be nice if you could post some more pictures how you mounted it on the back :)

Hey Stefan, i have the Edlekrone but i'm finding it a bit bulky and, well, i just worry about it a little bit. I've used some Small Rig stuff in the past and really like it. That mount looks great, and i think i'll order it!

I do have one question. I have the same top handle as you. How does this mount to the handle? Do i need to buy another piece? (seems i need two nato rails, never used those)

yeah, you need to buy nato rails, so you'll be able to mount the arm between the handle and the Odyssey. I bought one short Nato Rail for the 7Q (here) and a longer one for the handle bar (here), to be able to move the 7Q back and forth depending on the lens i'm using...

the difference is that the one i linked provides safety buttons, that you have to push prior to sliding the evf holder out of the rail. So that the EVF holder can not slide out of the rail accidentally.

Stefan,

HUGE HELP because there is not much information on rigs on the 7q in my opinion, so thanks! But what handle do you mount the EVF mount to? I think the MOVCam is way overpriced, but if it does the best job maybe I can justify it. Thanks!

Its a FS700 specific top plate by Wooden Camera. I think Genus and Berkey System make some as well.

Made a little video of the custom base, really cool being able to just leave it on all the time without adding much weight and no additional hight. I have no need to make the camera taller (hight and risers are only needed for some Matte Boxes anyway) adding an inch of hight is like adding a pound of weight for your tripod head from the added leverage it was amazing how much less counter balance I needed to set head once I lowered the rig.

This is the first one I made, Now I have had silver base and the black ARCA plate CNC'd together and tapped for the rail block

RayB, very simple but very effective sir. Can you tell me more about the arcade swiss quick release mount? I'very been looking for so many variations with the lever type lock, but mostly seen it from the side profile for the lever. Tia

The "normal" screw and side lever type are great and just as sturdy. The big feature of the Kessler is its a top loader you just drop the camera down on the clamp so it clicks in and is already safe before you flip the lock lever (can't fall side to side or slide out)

If anyone is still looking into this FS700 cage it's sold in Europe under the brand 'Movofilms' for €262 inc VAT from Movofilms.be. Came with a hard case with custom cut foam and shipping and communication was great. Think I snatched the last one but they still have it listed on eBay so might be worth dropping them a line to see what the situation is.

Looks like the camtree knock off stuff. I gave up on the fs700 in a cage, don't need the bulk or weight.
