Camera rumors for 2016?

Been expecting a FF FS camera for a while now (was sure what turned out to be the FS5 would be a FF camera)... Let's see if it finally happens...

Announcement dates:
FS100: mar 2011
FS700: apr 2012
FS7: sep 2014
FS5: sep 2015

So, maybe FS3? or FS7 II? a6300 in non-pro video body for $3K? Let's see...

F5/F55 lifespan was extended recently thanks to the new AXS-R7 recorder and made even more valuable with the new X-OCN codec so I doubt it will be a camera of this class.

What would make the new camera better than an FS7 or an FS5 ? At the moment I can only think about a stabilized IBIS sensor...

Or maybe a new 6K or 8K sensor to counter RED ? I'm not that interested in a boost in resolution right now but a new 4K stabilized sensor with less noise, a better dynamic range and maybe, let's dream out loud, global shutter would sure convince me to invest !

Remember I was also told about the forthcoming A7R III too, whereas the A6500 was announced without anyone expecting it and is getting all the jazz right now. (And piss A6300 owners like me...)

Sony has several options here. (as pontificated on these boards in the past) In the FS line, they can simply add an A7S/II based camcorder with some of the A6500 based features. They can also make an A7RII based camcorder in either s35 or full frame mode. Given that they're pushing the market toward full frame, they can actually make both! The key here is probably not the features per se but the codec that comes with the camera. They have a slew of the XAVC flavors as well as X-OCN/compressed Raw brought up in the post above mine. The expectation for a sub-$10,000 model is to be somewhat crippled in terms of codec. Once again, the likely key here is the ability to record 10-bit externally.

Full frame is an odds-on favorite here because, with the G-Master series of glass out, they need an appropriately designed camera that will deliver the C300 MKII/C700 quality auto focus too.

They could also make it same price or even cheaper than the FS5 by makinging it full frame but no high frame rates and only 8bit internal... a full frame in a video body would probably sell loads anyway... and then in a year release a better spec'd full frame camera at the FS7 level... a bit like a testing ground...

A full frame video camera able to also shoot in S35 mode with IBIS and ClearImage Zoom would be such a useful thing for run & gun combined with the 24-70 GM... (or even the 28-135). I'd want it even if it was only 8bit internal...

Well, that one flew under the DVXUser radar.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), producer of NAB Show and Content & Communications World (CCW), featuring SATCON, announced today it is rebranding the CCW event, which will now be called “NAB Show New York.” Attracting some 7,000 attendees annually and showcasing a full range of next-generation technology for media and entertainment professionals, the newly named NAB Show New York is taking place today and tomorrow at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.

It's much smaller in scope (~ 7,000 attendees vs. 100,000+ for the NAB in Vegas) but it looks like all the major players will be there.

Maybe get the FS7II out now, leave January-March open for the A7RIII and A7SIII...and leave the huge CineAlta releases for NAB.

It makes sense - INTERBEE - the FS line models seem to get upgraded every two years. My guess is that the new FS7 will have new AF features. PDAF? IBIS?
