C500: C500 MkII Accessories

Do you ever need four-channels of audio? I feel like that's really the main reason anyone would want the Module 2 accessory. I'd never have a need for it myself, which makes it even harder to swallow that Canon have only put one DTAP and one RS port on it.

One thing a lot of non-audio oriented shooters may not be aware of, I assume on the C500 MKII and I know for a fact on the C200, you can route the same inputs internally to Ch3-4 as you can to 1-2. Who doesn't like to have a set of safety channels set -10dB or -12dB to protect you
from talent screaming, laughing, loud ambient sounds?

I did a shoot a few weeks ago where the audio inut levels somehow got accidentally turned up way too loud and 1-2 were an overdriven mess. I had 3-4 set up to receive the same 1-2 input but had the manual levels set -12dB
lower. Totally saved our interview. As far as the C500 MKII, I would buy the V2 Module in a heartbeat, that's one thing I really miss from the Betacam days, having four XLR audio inputs. Two person interview? You have places to plug in two booms and two lavs. Getting a feed from a sound mixer on
1 & 2, you still have a place to plug in an ambient camera mic. Extra audio inputs are VERY handy for me.

Shame they put those extra inputs on the wrong side of the V2 unit.

That's some low-key genius! Thanks for the tip, I'm going to have to look into that (see if I can do the same with duplicating channel 1 to channel 2 when I'm running a single wireless lav).

I'm deaf in one ear, so anything audio related tends to terrify me - don't send a mono-man to do a stereo job!

Hawk-Woods make a small plate that requires rails with 4x d-taps but your'e committed to mini sized v-lock batteries:

Great find Rob! That's the best rail-mounted v-lock setup I've ever seen:

It'll be VASTLY tidier for cable management!

You can do that on the C200, I assume you'll also be able to do that on the C500 MKII.

I contacted coreswx and was told the Canon batteries will be shipping in 2 weeks. I went ahead and placed an order. It's currently $245 from them with free shipping while it's listed at $279 through retail channels.
