Hey guys

i wonder what are the hard case options for c300? i ve seen a peli , but i wonder if there are any other similar products! if anyone using it i wonder how practical are they?

Regards

I'm using a Pelican 1510 for my C100, a few lenses, lav mics etc etc etc.
No complaints at all with it. Mine has dividers, which I recommend (as opposed to pick-n-pluk foam). My last pelican I had the foam and it was great for what I had, but as soon as I changed anything, or got any new gear, the case was a pain to deal with (because of the specific foam holes etc). Dividers so much more flexible.

The 1510 is the largest size for airline carry-on as well, in case you need to travel at all with it.
highly recommended from my experience!

I have both Think Tank and Storm Case 2500. I use the Think Tank all the time for travel because it does fit in the overhead of standard size aircraft. If I know I will be traveling exclusively on regional planes then I use the storm case 2500 as it will fir under the seat on almost any commercial aircraft.

I've been using a Think Tank Airport Security. The camera fits nicely without its top handle or monitor mounted as long as it is not in the area of the case carved out for the stowing the case's handle. Not a true hard case but very nice and fits a ton of other stuff.

Think Tank....End of discussion. Unless you are shooting white water rapids and need air tight hard case.....Think Tank, end of discussion.

Most of my cameras ride in the Storm Case im2500. They offer great protection, and happen to fit nicely together on the shelf in my Sprinter van, as well as on my Filmtools camera cart on location. I live in a region where the climate changes all the time, and feel the Storm Case to be my best option protecting cameras and lenses. That being said, I also have a couple of soft carry bags/packs for when the need arises.

+1 for ThinkTank (Airport Acceleration + 17" laptop pocket for me), which I put into a 2500 or 2900 (without dividers or foam but plenty of bubblewrap and/or clothing) when I have to check it in on certain flights or assignments.

Hauling a 2500 or 2900 over a building site or muddy field is NOT cool, so I can take the Thinktank backpack out and wear it. However, having had an EX1 get soggy in a ThinkTank during a Singapore 'light shower' (known as "the End of Days Rain" in the UK), it's nice to have a waterproof, airline proof box on wheels that holds a taxi/pedestrian friendly backpack.

My Think Tank is the really the only case I use for my C300. The Peli Storm case gets used a couple of times a year, basically because it will fit under a seat in commercial aircraft. The Peli is too small for what I normally need to carry, which would force me into yet another bag or case, which given the bag fees these days with airlines adds another $200 dollars to a trip. So yeah - Think Tank

I have three of the largest Pelican 1650 cases, I used to air travel constantly, now not so much. I wouldn't use them for the camera nowadays. Have you guys been reading about the baggage handlers stealing valuables after the cases pass through TSA? It's all over the news. Also, they lose your case when a connection isn't made so I try to keep it in the overhead with an all purpose lens and a couple of batteries so I can at least do something when I land.

And if I am filming locally I prefer to be able to pull a fully assembled franken rig out of the van ready to show the client a frame:

I too have been on the look out for a case. One that would be carry on approved for the main flights if be taking and one that would fit my main and important gear.
C300 with the whole cage, Vocas mattebox, lenses batteries, 19mm bridgeplate and rods.
Searched through the entire store today looking for a good case. The best one not only the size but the one that I liked the most was the Think Tank Airport Accelerator. The best thing is it is a backpack. Strong and light.

The answer is think tank. I have a Storm 2500 which is rarely used unless I know I'm going to be on endless regional flights. The Storm really doesn't hold enough but it can do in a pinch. I used to use a pelican case that fit in the overhead but was getting so much flack from gate agents even though the case fit in the overhead that I decided a roll aboard that looked like a roll aboard was the way to go. While i would be discussing with a gate agent the size of the pelican an whether it would fit or not, 10 other people with larger roll a boards would go by me without causing any notice.
So I got the Think Tank and problem solved. I have had to gate check the tank a few times but that has not been a problem on some of the regional flights I have been on.

I was looking at your site yesterday - in particular, lens hard case. Can you post a link to your 6 lens hard case? Does the Canon CN-E 6-lens kit fits the case?

+1 on the Think Tank for the C300. We have the Airport Takeoff rolling backpack case that supposedly is the biggest carry-on model from them (as far as I can remember) and it fits overhead on virtually all international flights. Took it to -22 degrees C on glaciers and to +33 degrees C into damp Florida summer heat, it keeps the camera well protected and (with our custom setup) accomodates the C300 fully rigged with handle, monitor, Zacuto C300 baseplate, long carbon rods and all the batteries, chargers, mains supply, dust blowers, cables etc. etc. Just perfect.
