Wild guess: The C100 and C300 are pretty damn compact cameras, aren't they? Maybe they would have needed a faster processor to output higher framerates, and faster CPUs mean more heat. Maybe that was an issue. Again, just a guess. How about some higher frame rates for the c 300 ? My AF 100 can do 60 fps 1920x1080 . Why not my canon c300?
So with 80000 coming do you think 20000 got cleaned up at all????
GUYS! The DV DIGIC III is INCAPABLE of higher frame rates beyond 720/60p.

The C500 can do it, and at 4k as well, it is using a DIGIC III.
DIGIC III isn't doing anything, the sensor data just got passed to compatible external recorders via SDI.
Well perhaps Canon could make the C100 pass sensor data through HDMI to compatible external recorders.

Hi.
Does anybody know if the firmware update for the C100 will have to be done through a Canon dealer? Or will I be able to do it myself?
Thank you.
Pretty sure that the C100 firmware update scheduled to release in November can be performed by the owner. If you are not up to the task, Texas Media Systems, will update the firmware for free.
When the C100 Firmware is released, it will show up this link.
