C-Mount lense question

No argument there, but it will be interesting to see what kind of discussion occurs when you select "the best". :)

I don't want to select the best -- I want to post the results as-is, and let you folks think what you think about it.

I can sort of do that now, I've got some old c-mount lenses on a Filmo, that I could probably match up against some ZFs, and let the chips fall where they may... :)

From a c-mount lens? Depends on the focal length. In the lenses I have, 25mm has serious vignetting, and 18mm has extreme vignetting. But 50mm and longer have no vignetting.

that looks almost identical to my avenir lens which produces great pics, but the rear is smaller so it should fit without modifying? Do you know what sensor this lens was made for? I might just pick one up for fun too.

hi all,

Anyone knows what is the filter thread size for the Zeiss Tevidon 25mm 1.4? Been searching online but couldn't find anything..or must I do a step up? Thanks!

It doesn't fit. The back diameter is too big to sink into the c-mount adapter. So it'll attach just barely, and you could use it for macro stuff, but it has severe distortion at the edges because it's not properly attached.

ah shooot....just ordered one...lol that pic that they use is so misleading. It looks exactly like my Avenir lens except the rear silver mount is alot smaller so I assumed it would fit. Not a fan of how they put a disclaimer at the bottom that the pic may not match actual item.

Yes post 3 ebay link.

why does your cmount have a screw? what screw are you removing and what adapter do you have? and more importantly why do you think your adapter isn't working?

Are you sure it is not that lens in particular that is the issue? cause barry stated that it is too big to sit properly in a cmount adapter.

The adapter has a tiny screw that some have said if removed helps the adapter work.

The screw in or out made no difference.

Still get "this lens is not attached properly"

The lens in the 3rd post is the one I bought and it screws onto my c mount adapter no problem.

If I can find a c mount adapter that works with the GH1 I will be able to test this lens out...

Anyone know where I can buy a c mount that is known to work???
